I am working on a mod that will add a new world portal into the game so that when the player is transported there they will have a few choices for areas. There are only a few major things i would like to see and it would be up mostly up to you to decide how to do this. I only ask that i be included on the discussions of how we are going to do it. since i am a noob i will try to help as much as possible but be forewarned i will not be able to do everything that you can do. Here is what i would like to see happen. again as long as it has this i will be happy we can always add other things in here.

1. An Island where the Player can Train
   
2. An island close to the entrance that has a whole bunch of mannequins(20-30) For armor and swords
   
3. A house to sleep in
   
4. A Storage Area
   
5. An area where you will go into a room and choose a point of interest that will take yo to another more specific room to fast transport(AKA: You go into the room and pick a guild and can from there fast transport to those various guild locations)

Whenever I see new mod ideas posted here, I cringe. People come up with ideas for huge mods that would take the Bethesda team years to finish and they expect some modder to put it together in a week. Yours however, is a perfect example of what could/can be done. Everything that you mentioned in your post could be accomplished easily. This idea and mod offers little or no challenge to an experienced modder but is excellent for someone to begin or learn with.

 

This is the mod you should learn with. Any questions about the CS could be posted here and the modders on the forum would be pleased to help you out. I really think you should make this mod yourself, you may find that modding is something you enjoy.

 

Post any questions you have and I will answer what I can. You could also PM me with some questions. Good luck with this fantastic request and with your modding.

Thank you for the advice this is something i want to learn to do so i am trying to get a little help. I posted another post on a different thread because i am having troubles i go to load the very basic mod and it starts to load the game gets to bethesda soft works and then it quits and shuts down. Again thanks for the advice i will probably be using this forum a lot.

Hmm.. Tomarrow MAYBE if i have time (i will try but i make NO promises) I will make a quicky mod that KIND of does what you want. It will be extremely sloppy, and it will need a LOT of work but it will do SOMETHINg of what you want.

 

Why sloppy, why rough?

 

Because.. you need to learn.

 

I want to make something almost USELESS of a shell of what you want, so you can open up the Construction Set and take a poke around, learn how things work, learn the Z X and Y positioning and learn how it can be used as an art form as well.

 

I will try to make you a rough draft of the "shape" of what it can look like so that you can see for yourself how it what you want CAN be mapped out, this way, if you decide to use my rough draft or make your own from scratch, you can get a better idea of HOW to do it. I am a very experienced modder, im not nearly the best or anywhere near it, but i have a lot of experience, and i love absalutely LOVE helping out those who have the ambitious heart to mod but have no idea how to start, or are just new. Reminds me of me, and when i say that, i mean it reminds me of how when i was soooo excited about modding, how every day i learned something new and it was just AWESOMe. The feeling of finding new tricks to mod, applying them and see them not only work, but look good! And i know first hand that starting out from no experience is extremely tough when you have such a good idea for a mod, and you KNOW it is not only possible, you can KIND of imagine how it should be done regardless if you actually know for a certainty how to do it yourself.

 

I will help you with this if and when i can (but again no promises although i will bend over backwards and try as hard as i can to fit time in to do so) for the sole reason that you have the heart, the heart of an ambitious modder with natural talent waiting to explode into a frenzy of new, original, and exciting mods. Never loose that heart.

 

PM me TOMARROW (or technically for me, later on today, PREFERABLY IN THE PM's) about my offer, and i will tell you if and when i can do it. If so, again, remember it will practically be a peice of crap because not only would i prefer you make it youself and not use mine, but i am only going to do it as a "map" or referance to see HOW it can be done. It is easier to look at a mod that is already kind of mapped out when building one yourself of the same thing when you have no idea how to start.

I'll lend you an hand in scripting as far as possible. This one doesn't need any difficult ones, but I like the idea.

A friend of mine started a similar project not too long ago, but stopped. It was supposed to be a learning thing for scripts for him.

Lol, we even had a island near the IC ;). So I might know what you would need for scripting, where Ranokoa can't help you out.

 

So you can do some animation too, then? Wondering if you could let the player do some workout?

Thats no easy task..., just wondering...

 

I've some affinity with transporting-scripts and islands well. So that might come in use too.

anyway... I know Ranokoa (a little bit... ) as well, so that could speed up this small project even further....:).
