HollownessDevoured
First off I mod for a game over a decade old, there is still an active community but it is small. This is about 2 large mods that work together and one is also a modders resource (and the other is suppose to be getting an even larger expansion in a few weeks). So, for large, or massive mods that end up largely broken. That takes months or years to find out that users are experiencing errors, because of lack of feedback. I make myself available for fixes, but in many cases I can't easily replicated issues (I use a version of the same mod but with components that cannot be shared due to permissions of other mods). So I rely on users and their feedback to investigate. I had a mod that is suppose to be my legacy mod that works with the mod from a year ago. I released in segments last year to make sur each area was working, I got some feedback certain things weren't working but they didn't give responses to my initial common possible problems. After almost a year I release the mods as a large collection, then the complaints starting coming in more but hardly any actually responded back helpful feedback to common issues, so I assumed they just did not want to troubleshoot the common problems (and assumed it was their end). Finally, a few people came forward and helped me investigate. A collection of issues came up and it was to a point I re-published the large collection, it was just that much of an error. But now another medium issue has been found, restructured the mods greatly, and still not sure if it is 100% working yet. And I can't properly put in a bug report because I took it off unknowingly I couldn't put it back on. And due to the fact the game is so old, pretty much once you fall off the 30day feed, your mod is almost invisible. I feel helpless. TLDR:So what am I suppose to eat it, let 2 rounds of 30day be wasted on broken mods and let them die. Or do a another republish and risk annoying the community for yet another republish? What is the common practices for situations like this. Are you suppose to be anchored to mods that had a rough start, or just always republish once it gets too ugly?
