(If this isnt in the right Thread please move it to the right one lol :))

Hey guys, Im trying to get used to the Construction Set. And currently im trying to spruce up Sheogorath's Throne Room with lots of Carpets, Curtains, Rugs and Banners and all.

Well Ive put a lot of stuff in now. And im pretty much finished with it....BUT...the references and the new furnishings are visible in the Render Window in the CS. But when I go ingame, whenever I load game into Sheogorath's Palace Throne Room...most of them are gone.

Ar first I thought maybe I had to much in it or something. So I reduced the number of some of the furnishings and all I put in to increase its look. But then when I loaded game again a different combination of them dissapeared o_O.

Do yous understand what I mean?

If theres a way to fix this does anyone know?

I need them all to stay there.

Please :( :thanks:

Well everytime before i load the esps up it says "You have not made this an Active File. Continue Anyway?" And I always click yes.

I dont think I copied the Palace Room no.

Are you sure you know what Im talking about dude?

Some of the references and additions I put into the Palace Room is gone and some ae there. Everytime I change it different ones dissapear and others reappear when I go ingame.

EDIT: I added another wee simple addition to the palace room this time with it set as the Active File. But stuff still dissapears when I go ingame.

This does NOT make the esp active. Saying Yes just loads it, so you can see what it contains, but you can't save any changes.

But, you can cause big problems with the original files this way, which sounds like has already happened if the esp was not active. You made changes to the Oblivion ESM when your esp was not active and that will most likely need a reinstall to fix considering how many times you've tried to get it to work. Every change made to the original files makes it harder to undo.

You could get TES4Edit or TES4Gecko to help fix it if it's repairable.

Normally, when things don't show up in game or disappear etc, it's because your game OR the CS is not patched to the same version. You have SI so make sure you have the latest version of the Construction Set.

Yes, I do.

That is your whole problem and something almost all new modders do. When you open the CS you choose data and click on your mod. At the bottom of the list there is a button that sets the mod as active. If you are not using that button to set the file as active. and your post states that you are not, you are messing up your game install.

Just make sure you don't modify your Shivering Isles esp. When you start a project, you don't want an active file at all. Just select the data that your mod will be dependent on (usually oblivion.esm, and in this case, your shivering isles esp as well). You will then want to save and it will allow you to pick a new name for your mod. Save it. And make sure you select to load it when you play.

You will then want to be able to modify that esp as it doesn't do anything yet. When you open the CS and import data, you will want to select all the things you did before and the esp you just named. You must select THE ONE YOU NAMED as the active file. This will make it so any modification you make will now be on the esp you named. If you make something else your active file, such as oblivion.esm or the shivering isles esp, you may screw up your install, and hopefully you have backups of it.

If you made some changes in x.esp, you will see the changes when you load x.esp in game. Loading all the stuff in CS again and not making x.esp your active file means that, when you save you will be prompted for a file name again. Typing x.esp means you will overwrite your other x.esp and all the changes you made the first time are gone and the new ones are present. This probably explains why some things changed and other things didn't. This isn't what you want. Setting x.esp as the active file will append new modifications to x.esp, the behavior you would expect.
