Patch status quo, and build planning

Okay so deleted the C:/fallout to move it to a raptor on D:/

 

This will be the third time I've reinstalled fallout 3 to clean it up.

 

 

The first time I just was too new to get a nice end result, also didn't work well

 

The second time was cluttered with stuff I didn't really want plus mostly all of the ultimate load order

Ultimate load order was great an helpped even working well with the 1.1.0.35 patch

 

Now moving it to D:/ I'm filtering out stuff I don't really need or can't use

While also creating a RaR backup of downloads as well as a restore point for the retail install

 

ATM I'm just downloading things for the backup RAR

So I only have a retail disc install on D:/ unpatched, no save games

 

I've run into the problem of there being tons of information on the net about the "patches"

There is just no way for me or the rest of ubernoobish nub nubs to figure it out

 

The last bit of information I found was that the 1.1.0.35 patch adds SLI support

I didn't really notice many problems with 35 which everyone says is problematic

 

 

So here's what I got.

 

P4 550 HT, PNY SLI 8800 GT's, ASUS P5N-D, 2Gb OC DDR2 800, 2Gb-3Gb page files on C:/ and D:/

1600x1200 native, then windows XP SP3

 

I use FOMM, FOSE, GECK, FO3edit Still learning, along with the blender,nifscope, netpaint stuff

 

I just run the base retail game, no add on's from bethesda yet, just the awesome mods from Nexus

 

As far as mods this time I'm staying away from body an body texture mods because I ran into

really bad hard lines on the neck an hands, plus I had to ditch rivens eyescapes to use race mods.

 

Besides that and a bunch of small esp stuff The build is centered around FOOK, MMM, bullet time, groove

SCC, Thrash if I can find it, Fellout , weather, VATS MCE, VATS long distance, Presise auto aim, RI an PN

Kaboom, Unofficial Patch, ect.

 

I don't have a load order or anything, so that's just a guide of what I wana build this time

 

 

So really I have two questions

 

1. Which patch would be better taking into concideration wanting to keep the good ole fallout we like, and having a silly SLI rig

 

2. Cool mods that you just can't not put into a load order/build

I had a couple of .esp that made FO3edit bug out with a error

Removed those, and ran FO3editmasterupdate.exe until the loader finished

 

The discription on master update was from when it was beta and said

that it allows post .15 patch use with pre .15 save games

I don't really have a save game.

 

I just ran the 1.5 on the retail install plus the master update to

take the 1.5 and master update choice

Most seem to think this way is better because it's "hands off" or easy

 

I might try the other two ways later on.

 

I do have a rather silly load order, it's way to long to fix it on my own.

Did what I could, it will at least launch the .exe an load screen.
