ericazwel
Sure thing. It isn't too difficult to configure. In your Oblivion data folder, find the "Streamline" folder. Then open the "ini Files" folder and then "sl.ini". Look for the line that says "set SLv.FPSsmoothing to 1" then change the 1 to 0 and save. Start Oblivion and load your game. Open the console and type (without quotes) "StartQuest slini2". You have now configured Streamline to not change your game settings. You can configure Streamline even more by tweaking the various settings in that ini file. Outstanding. I'll give it a whirl. Thanks a bunch. Kudo's your way XJDHDR. BossDweebe
Streamline works well for me.The only thing that really needs to be turned off in the Details section is the terrain setting. If this is on Streamline will turn off your Distant lands on occasions such as riding aroundin the country side looking for new locations.(depending on your FPS setting). The purge function is also a good thing. XJDHDR
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of streamline? The idea was to improve fps by reducing the visuals, but only as needed. He did this by changing the ini settings on the fly. Unfortunately, the author vanished leaving us with an unfinished v3.1 that has some bugs. 3.0 works better, but doesn't have all of the 3.2 features. You are partly correct Bben. You would lose Streamline's display settings modification, but Streamline also has auto-saving (as Nosisab pointed out) and memory purging, which aren't turned off if you follow my method. Also, my method is probably the noob's-quick-remove-streamline's-troubles method. For the more experienced modder, I would rather recommend you keep that option turned on and search through the INI file to find the "Streampurge settings" section and only turn off the settings you don't want modified (as BossDweebe pointed out, terrain setting modification is probably the only thing that needs to be turned off). BTW, did you know that you can also change Streamline's settings in game by pressing right Ctrl-Home and using the menu that appears. The INI file is probably the recommended way of configuring Streamline though since it is the INI file's settings which are used for your game if Streamline is added to a new game or re-initialised.
