Ok, so for starters this laptop I bought already had Skyrim and the mod manager installed, I have updated both to the current versions.
I found two mods, "Salt Merchant" and some little cottage by Falkreath, Downloaded and installed in the mod manager, they are checked and it says they are active, lastly on the game launch page under "data files" I made sure their selection boxes were checked. I CANNOT FIND THESE PLACES IN THE GAME! ive looked for a good hour all around where the description says their supposed to be... Anyone know what could be wrong? could the mod manager be saving the files in the wrong place?

Its saving them in "programfilesx86/skrim" or whatever.

The guy sold you an unformated notebook?

Wow... people nowadays are pretty bold.

Actually, for me, even formating isn't enough...

I have the habit of donating my old computer/notebook after buying a new one... I always remove the HD...

Who knows if people can track my banking information from there... or saved passwords....

I prefer to not take risks.

an advice my friend: uninstall that skyrim and grab a fresh copy from steam. the guy who sold that laptop/notebook to you probably pirated that skyrim because by default skyrim is installed inside:

C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\

or

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\

If your Skyrim is inside either of those folder then maybe it's the mod manager that is acting up

about your mod manager saving it in another directory, configure your mod manager so that it puts or activates mods in the right folder (this should be fairly easy to do)

If you're using NMM, click the setting button (It looks like two gears on top of each other ont the top right corner) then click the Skyrim tab.

From there you should be able to configure mod install folders.

That is too damn funny. Are people that... wow... didn't even wipe the hard drive before selling it. That reminds me I saw in the news this one boy received a new mobile device- the dad of this boy thinks that the device was preowned, as it had porn on it.

He says the walmart he bought it from must of not deleted the content and reset the device to factory defaults lol.
