Should I Take My Mod Off, Or Not?

Ok, so I made a mod called "A Classic Death".

It's my first mod, & it's extremly simple, it just replaces the original sound that plays when you die, w/ the mario death sound effect.

I found it hilarious when I tried it in game, so I published it. Before I published it I seached for a mod simliar to it, & found none.

I recently received a comment from a downloader that he had been using this mod for months. When I asked how that was possible since the mod was only published 12 hours ago, he replied that there was another mod out there, "Mario Death Music", that he used.

I searched the title on here, & googled it, but came up w/ no results.

Conflicted, what should I do?

It sounds to me like the commenter made a mistake when he said he has been playing it for months. Keep your mod up if there is another, well, no harm no foul. You didn't copy anyone's idea, this is your mod and you made it.

off topic, I use the Castlevania intro for my level up sound.

on topic, yes you should leave it up unless a moderator tells you it must come down. Anyone else is just stating their opinion.

I would say you should keep it up. If that other mod was so hard to locate that you couldn't find it, then having yours up will give people twice the opportunity to download it and use mods which do this.
