niston
Sending settlers from an exterior to work or sleep in a non-settlement interior is impossible. Or... is it? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/262512https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/261232https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/261871
South8028
I want to make a DaVinci or a fancy surgical robot. instead of a surgical chair. This is possible because havok and gamebryo do not need to be exactly in sync. The havok animation is static. The patient simply lies on the operating table. Manipulators also work. An overlay is animated on top of the npc body with uv animation of cuts and work processes. But we need to think about how to implement the scenario. It must be something like a robot from Prometheus. Diagnostic and surgical base with CNC.

Zorkaz
It ain't. In my "Diamond City Greenhouse Workshop" I linked beds from the outside to the interior workshop. So NPCs will go outside to sleep.
niston
How'd the player assign settlers to the beds outside? And how did you solve the unloaded location problem?
Fantafaust
Surely that was done in the CK, rather than in-game?
niston
Well, the issue with settlers is that they are not normally persistent. If an actor is not persistent and leaves the loaded area, teh actor will unload.Unloaded actors will not be able to be resolved by reflinks. So if workshop update (or reset, I keep forgetting which) runs, the workshop is loaded but the actor is unloaded, that will cause all kinds of trouble such as the actor vanishing from the workshop. Obviously, this is not a problem for non-settler NPCs in this context.
