Thor.
Hello, as you well know video card hunting is ever so hard now with Litecoin taking off as everyone and there dog whose geek enough to know how to do that sort of thing is Raising the price of video cards. I am on the hunt for a video card myself and the radeon r290 and the r290x's are no where to be seen, especially the after market coolers. If you are in the market for one of these types of video cards its impossible right now to find one anywhere. Heck i almost thought of selling my gigabyte windforce edition 7950's for the highest bidder on ebay, they are used. Though they are well taken care of, Maybe 600$ a piece lol, I'm not that evil. Well because they say they are the ones that where the most popular even now. If anyone can spot a r290 or even a r290x in Canadian funds, i would be greatly appreciated, Also Christmas and the holidays isn't helping much either. Edited December 31, 2013 by Thor. Thor.
Nope newegg lists there out of stock items, check the auto notify. Not to mention look at the after market cooler models, they are sold out everywhere. Concept models not so much. Edited December 31, 2013 by Thor. Vagrant0
Confused here a little... What exactly is Litecoin? Distributed Computing (like folding at home) only monetized? Is this even safe to use, or certifiable enough that it isn't using your computer as a botnet or anything similar? Poked the program, but when it tried to alter my computer in such a way that it would grant an open connection via system settings I decided I didn't want to trust it. Thor.
Its a replacement of Bitcoin ever sense China banned it, they claim its harder to farm now, the value drastically tumbled so they started to switch a liter currency which is called Litecoin. Many sites are blaming the litecoin farmers for the lack of radeon cards because they claim they are more efficient at doing it then Nvidia is, as you can see many gtx780 ti's on the shelves. Its getting harder and harder for us legitimate video card buyers to find the model we want. Its technically hurting the pc gamer market because the lack of video cards available, especially the r290 which is a cheaper alternative to the gtx780ti. Edited December 31, 2013 by Thor.
