images/videos Image and Video uploads fail with emojis in the description

Summary

When uploading a video, if the description/summary/title contains UTF8 emoji characters, it fails with an unhelpful error.

Steps to reproduce

1. Add a video at: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/videos/add
2. Add the following data:
   1. Category: General
   2. Title: Test
   3. Link: https://youtu.be/8d_6lVOAplI
   4. Caption: none
   5. Description: (use the code block below)

Expected Behaviour

The video is posted successfully.

Actual result

The video fails to post with this error.

 

Workaround

 

Only use A-Z a-z 0-9 characters when sharing a video.

Thank you very much, the problem has been solved, also edit the videos to reduce this possible "video not found" error.

Hi,

just wanting to leave a thank you comment. I was starting to get desperate after clearing cache, flushing dns, using different browser etc. after failing to upload an image again and again. This forums entry helped me resolve my issue by identifying that it was the emoji that caused the issue. Therefore, thank you!
