RognvaldTheWise
EDITED The idea to have a second horse to use as a pack mule.http://www.usparklodging.com/info/yellowstone/images/horse.jpgFeatures wanted: The ability to have a second horse to carry your belongingsTo have the pack mule follow you while on foot or horsebackThe pack mule should flee from combat to protect your belongingsNon-essential for realismPack mules can be purchased at any stable at any time one diesThe ability to give your pack mule simple commands such as stay or follow, this way you can scout ahead or go into combat with your personal steedI really don't like the idea of using my personal riding horse as a pack mule. From a realism perspective, if your horse dies while in combat you would have to carry all the stuff your horse was carrying. If you have a second horse just for having as a pack mule, scripted to run away from combat, then your stuff would be safe and you can ride into combat without that worry. And yes I know that in convenient horses you can set your horse to be essential, but I want realism when it comes to horses. Most of the features that come with convenient horses I don't need to use. Mounted combat can be a pain in the a**, why would I want to try to pick flowers? So from my point of view, why should I download a mod and bog down my computer and game with files I don't want or need? This is why I made the request, just something simple! CookieDynamics
The mod called "Convenient Horses" allows you to put stuff on your horse's bags. But, unlike your idea, the " pack mule" is your very Warhorse. It also allow you to command your horse to " follow " while you're on foot and " stay" in places until you call it... And several other features, you should check it out.
RognvaldTheWise
Yeah, I've tried that one before. I was just looking for something simpler without lots of menus and additional features that I won't ever use. Hence my reason for the PLEASE NOTE in my post! Thank you for your suggestion though! DragonDude1029
The 'lots of menus' you mention are in Convenient Horses to configure/disable the 'additional features that [you] won't ever use.' Not trying to be rude or anything like that, but modders generally don't like remaking mods that already exist, especially if they are well accepted mods like Convenient Horses. Notably, Convenient Horses does the exact thing you say, and the only additional things it has is a horse whistle, horse summoning horn, and follower horses. Not really thing you won't ever use, seeing as telling your horse to follow or come to you are necessary things for a horse follower (or pack mule) mod anyways. CookieDynamics
I did read the " Please note" up top, but I assumed that by "overhaul" you meant "mods that change in various sectors of the game" ... Convenient horses just adds functions specifically to horses. Still, I understand that it could be classified as a mod that "overhauls" horses. But I disregarded that because, in my view, if this qualifies as overhaul, pretty much any mod that will add the pack mule function would classify as such also. Anyway, I love your pack mule idea. I hope would have it the way you want soon.
RognvaldTheWise
EDIT: PLEASE RE-READ FIRST POST AS I HAVE EDITED IT TO BE MORE SPECIFIC! THANK YOU! Edited January 1, 2014 by RognvaldTheWise
MostlyMuggie
EDIT: PLEASE RE-READ FIRST POST AS I HAVE EDITED IT TO BE MORE SPECIFIC! THANK YOU!Well then... Editing the whole OP is a bit annoying, but my answer still stands. The mods I listed do EXACTLY what you want. If you want it to be a second horse that follows you around, then get a mod that lets you have 2 horses.

You can have multiple horses in Convenient Horses or Convenient Horses Herding (one of the two). You can tell them to follow you, and then ride one. I just did it to clean it up some not to re-explain it to you. Yeah well I didn't like your suggestions! On topic - Convenient Horses it is then!
