363rdChemicalCompany
And this one.Not really a quest mod ( well it adds small quests) but really improves the settlements atmopshere and realism: Settler and Companion Dialogue Overhaul at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)
363rdChemicalCompany
And this one is a lot of fun.Basically right after Concord rescue you get radio message from a military annex to V111.You get to meet up with fellow vets and make the Enclave great again and have some nice shootouts with the holier than thou Brotherhood in the process. Ophiucus68
What sort of playthrough experience are you looking for? In addition to the ones people have already suggested (which are all very good in different ways), I would recommend Sim Settlements 2. To me, SS2 feels like it could've been an actual official DLC, it fits into the game in a way that makes you forgot your actually playing modded content . Well, I love Ivy and Heather mods. They fit in with the main story well and expand it without changing it. So mods that expand the story while being immersive would be a plus. Ones that are well made - good script, good voicing, no bugs, etc.
Moksha8088
Well, I love Ivy and Heather mods. There is a mod available from Ivy's author (on his Discord page) that allows for two additional companions. That way you can have the top three companions for Fallout 4: Heather Casdin, I'm Darlene, and Ivy all at the same time, and all with their own quests. They might not be as talkative as some of Skyrim's advanced companions, but they will add enjoyment to your Commonwealth travels.

Ones that are well made - good script, good voicing, no bugs, etc. Look for authors Takahashi, Thuggysmurf, Neeher, and Seddon. Takahashi has mastered the art of having good voice acting (besides his quest mods, take a look at Atomic Radio). Thuggysmurf has attracted some good voice actors as well. Takahashi and Thuggysmurf feature the best cleverest writing of any mods.
