basically a script and dialog option mod that allows you to donate to more NPCs that you like and to give stuff to stores without them paying you (donating items instead of selling em). just a fun idea for being a friendly soul to skyrim's people (well.... the ones you like)

oh yeah. NPCs can give you stuff, but you can't do the same.

This would also have a few practical uses, in giving useful items to NPCs that aren't your followers. Especially ones that are accompanying you for a quest but aren't true followers.

Honestly, this may be easier to do than it appears. The system already exists in the game. The most notable instance of this are those bound soldiers you can find being escorted by soldiers of the opposite faction. If you walk up and activate them, you can free them and the game gives you the option of giving them a weapon. Though come to think of it, you can also gift items to children you adopt.

I don't know what it would take to extend this system to other npcs, but the underlying mechanics are already present in the game, so it should just be a matter of enabling them for more npcs.

Ok, I made a very barebones version of this. (and I'll be using it in my own games from now on)

edit:

I'm open to suggestions for (simple) additional features.

Also it looks like there is one that already exists. An old one. "Give Gifts to anyone in Skyrim".

However, it is always-on (every NPC always has the dialog options), while the simple one I just made isn't, and it needs a bit of cleaning. It's otherwise more complete, I think.

a cool feature would be that the NPCs you give gifts to will become a "friend". they will like you just like followers but without the follow part. or like when you help an npc they will be friends.
