Altering Items on Mass

Heya. I am looking to change all of the five thousand some food items Introduced by Hunterborn. But with my current inexperience that means altering each file by hand in the Creation Kit, which, while doable will probably take a few days. Is there any way in the Creation Kit or any other tool that I could use to modify hundreds of food items at a time?

I just altered my first batch of files and something I can't explain has occurred. When I loaded into the game to see if my changes had worked none of the food items appeared to be changed and when I hopped back into the Creation Kit all of the files I attempted to alter were back to how they were and also there were duplicate files corresponding to each file I altered. What I had attempted to do to the food files was remove 1 effect and add another effect, the duplicate files have no effects, my working theory is that the duplicate files correctly kept track of my removing the effect from the file but not for my adding the ineed effect to it. Does anyone have any idea why I ended up with these duplicate files instead of my changes to the original files being saved? Thanks for your time.

Sounds like you included an ESP as a parent master. If the ESP is not flagged as an ESM, the Creation Kit will not retain any links to records from that ESP.

There are two solutions for SSE

1. Use Wrye Bash or xEdit to toggle the header bit from ESP to ESM when working on the mod and toggle back when testing in game.

2. Use the Creation Kit Fixes mod which tweaks the CK to automatically accept ESP files as master files.

I strongly suspect you were correct. In addition to just running wonderfully compared to what I am used to using, the Creation Kit Fixes mod appears to have cleared up my duplication troubles. Thanks a ton.
