Graiskye
Hello all. Help Im lost. I realize part of the game is just finding your way around, but Im stuck in the foriegn quarter in Vivec??? I did find one way out underwater? Is that the only way? Is there a map of Vivec,or guide you can purchase from a vendor?? Just thought it couldnt hurt to ask. Also I cant find my 'Paper MAp' anywhere. Is there anywhere I can get a replacement??? Thanks again Graiskye.
NinjaSalad
The best way to describe it is that vivec is shaped like a cross, the foriegn quarter would be the top of the cross, just keep heading north.
Dilvish
This link has some Morrowind online maps. http://www.rpgplanet.com/morrowind/travelg...rrowindmaps.aspI'm not sure how useful they are. I hardly use maps anymore. There are many ways out of the Foreign Quarter. In the Underworks, use the ladders to go up. Use the stairs up from the Canal Works. There are doors to the outside on the perimeter of the Waistwork levels. Don't miss the ramps which are outside on both sides of the Waistworks doors. You might be missing the ramps if your Gamma setting is too low. You can use the ramps to go from level to level in all the Cantons of Vivec. A trick: If you jump up onto the rail on the outside of any level of the cantons, you can then walk off that level and drop down to the next lower level without injury. Don't jump down though unless you have high acrobatics skills.
Raven7669
Or you could use a scroll/spell/amulet of almsivi intervention. This will put you outside the temple in Vivec, the other end. This is also a quick way to get from the top to the bottom of vivec. Don't use divine interevntion though it will take you to ebonheart. Once outside you could walk back to the foriegn quarter and explore the outside from the bottom up. I also found a weak levitation spell lasting about 10-15 seconds is very helpful in vivec, saves a lot of time
Adras
I suggest using your map (in your menu with stats and such). It can be very useful, but sometimes you just have to live with being somewhat lost there.
Morbid_Pathologist
there are many ways out of the vivec buildings, although i find it hard to believe you got lost in one of them =\ its rather simple, if you could get to the underground area (sewers?) just look for a ladder, since its the foreign quarter watch out for a wooden door with an orc out the front...Anyway, once you head up the ladder, look for some stairs, as they go up they'll either turn left or right...there'll be more stairs then a door...its rather self explanatory from there. Malchik
Seven of the nine cantons are basically the same in design with minor variations. A top level plaza entered by large doors at either end and usually not otherwise accessible. Waistworks are built like mezzanine floors with passages running to 6 exit doors. There are also two passageways that lead to shops and offices etc. One flight of stairs down brings you to the part below the mezzanine which sometimes has doors off. This is still part of the waistworks. The stairs continue one flight down to the canal works. In some cantons all the canalworks is accessible from every entrance but more often than not there is another room or group of rooms in the way. Four hatches opening onto ladders will take you down to the underworks. The rooms etc leading off from any of these levels may themselves be on more than one level but with few exceptions do not have an exit to a different level. The arena is slightly different and the foreign quarter has two levels of waistwork but both adhere to this general formula. Two cantons, palace and temple, are completely different. Palace has Vivec's quarters above five sewer like levels called the puzzle canal. Temple has 'High Fane' approximating to the plaza level. This is built over an extensive level that corresponds to canalworks in other cantons. IIRC there are no rooms off this you have to go up, to offices, library, living quarters etc or down to the underworks. I hope this helps.
