Is this a normal Papyrus log for an unmodded Skyrim?

Hello,

I'm trying to set up a complicated but thoroughly researched modlist revolving around Requiem, Civil War Overhaul, Dragon Combat Overhaul, Deadly Mutilations, and Texture Pack Combiner/Vivid Landscapes. I installed all of the mods via Wrye Bash and tested it out; I was able to play continuously for about an hour without crashing. However, I am wary of crashes coming on later in the game after I've already invested time into my character, so I want to iron out my Papyrus log, which shows some errors. As a negative control, I unchecked everything in my load order (but did not remove the files) and ran a new game in Skyrim up until the "stay of execution" at Helgen. The Papyrus log appears as follows:

It looks like there are already errors just in that short sequence. Is this normal?
Thanks!

Papyrus logs aren't just errors, they are printouts of a lot of events occurring in the game. The developers used them to ensure things were occurring properly and to time things properly. A lot of what you see is normal, actually most of what you see is normal. I would ignore the papyrus log during the Helgen scene especially, there are a lot of scripted and timed events going on for that sequence. Unless during that timeframe something specifically says "Error with mod x" or unless you know how to read the logs, then I would ignore the ones during this cutscene.

After briefly looking through them everything looks somewhat normal, or at least nothing to be too worried about.

I'm relieved and dismayed to find this post. I'm trying to track down a problem and have resorted to uninstalling all mods (with deletion of files) and starting a new only-bethesda game to set up a clean save to re-start testing. Then I looked at the papyrus log and ... well I can't post what I thought.

1382 lines and at least half are errors of some sort

That is just pathetic.

Was the log from your 'clean-save beth only' run? If yes that's completely normal. Uninstalling mods is not recommended nor supported. Suddenly everything your save was accessing is gone, that's what the errors are. It's not pathetic at all, it's the opposite. It's doing a good job of telling you that you just screwed your game over...

Unless you are starting a new game entirely. Then put your log in a spoiler and I'll check it for you.

Verbose logs are not pathetic in the slightest, logs are meant to tell you exactly what's going on, a blank log is useless.

Not every mod that does stuff outputs messages to the papyrus log, nor should they. A blank log is good because it tells you things are working and you're doing things correctly. Messy logs aren't particularly useful because people only look at them when they're crashing even though the papyrus log has nothing to do with CTDs.

:wallbash:It's a log, not an error report. Anything that registers for key updates or does extensive polling should be printing something to the log. Anything running compatibility checks (aka using get form from file) should be printing to the log. A blank log can be good sure, but it's not necessarily 'better' than a verbose log. Just because there are things in the log file doesn't mean they are errors.

True be dat. It pisses me off sometimes really.
