Unknowing Stat Debuffs

Now, I admit I haven't quite mastered the way to really lvl up in this game effectively. I started a mage character. I'm now at lvl 27 and feel totally gimped. I've maxed out on Willpower and Int, but have hardly enough mana to cast more than 3 destro spells before i'm gimped. On 50% difficulty, it takes me at least about 12 of those to take down a monster, if not more... so i just run in circles trying to get mana up and cast when i get a chance. Yeah, I'm gimped.

So I decided to try to see what I did wrong. I noticed when going to my stats page that my Willpower has a -21 debuff on it, my Int has a -23 debuff on it, and other stats have them as well. I don't know where these are coming from. I have no negative status or spell effects on. I haven't had any potions. It's not on any of my weaps or armor (I took them all off just to be sure)..

what do these come from and mean? Am I missing the boat?

Greetings and welcome to the forum, my mage friend.

My deduction is that you're suffering from some kind of disease OR, while fighting Wraith's, Ghosts and Spectres, they may have damaged your attributes. Actually, not only them, but many other creatures, like Will o' the Wisp or enchanted weaponry can damage your attributes. That's a pain in the butt, i know.

If you want to know what is making you weaker, open your Journal and go to the Magic page. There's likely to have five pages inside it - All of your spells, greater power, etc. Click on the one at the extreme right - it lists all of your Active Effects, including any kind of Debuff.

If you want to cure it, there's many ways. The easier of them is going right into a chapel and praying - if you dont have any bounty on your head, of course. Praying makes all of your diseases go away, restore all of your attributes, health, magicka and fatigue.
