PacificMorrowind
In short:You should be able to walk on the deck while it is sailing. === doable, a bit tricky but still not terribly difficultCompanion should be able to walk on the deck while it is sailing. === would require testing but they would be able to follow the player around, the only question is whether they could wander on their own.Companion should be able to sail the ship.=== how? (why? what would they sail to ? etc, why would you wan tthat feature since then you'd have to tell them what to do which isn't very fun with thousand of directions to choose from) this definitely would not be in beta 1.Player should be able to sail the ship. ==== EasyYou should be able to place items on deck, like lanterns, and not have them fly off as soon as the ship started moving.=== this would be somewhat difficult would be unlikely to be in beta1 You should be able to climb into the crows nest while anchored and while sailing. === easy while anchored, slightly tricky while sailing. You should be able by activating the hull like a treasure chest to load and unload cargo in the cargo hold, including mounts. === very easy except for mounts but that could be still be done with a minor bit of scripting and might cause errors with some quest mounts. I do have a bunch of other things that I'm dong currently but I should think that I could at least get player collision, sailing and treasure chest hull very quickly (ie. within a couple weeks) done. RaduSamanc
Companion should be able to sail the ship.=== how? (why? what would they sail to ? etc, why would you want that feature since then you'd have to tell them what to do which isn't very fun with thousand of directions to choose from) this definitely would not be in beta 1. For Companion it would work like this: ContinueStopTake Me To ICTake Me to LeyawiinTake Me to BravilTake Me to Anvil These are the only cities that actually have ports, I have a custom mod for Bravil, that are big enough to accommodate ships this large. Ultimately, if this is a module that will become part of a bigger mod. You would want NPC's to be able to "ride" a ship the same way they ride a horse allowing for NPC owned ships that actually go places, i.e., deliver cargo, transport passengers. Not everyone will want to own a ship, but it would still be cool to pay a PC to take you on a ship. Companion Share and Recruit has commands like "meet me in" and you could send the companion to a specific place in the world. This should be possible with ships as well. RaduSamanc
A compatibility patch should only be considered for Companion Share & Recruit: when it's used in conjunction with Set Essential Actors Plus mod all NPCs become recruitable, even NPCs from CM Partners mod. Even city guards can become permanent companions. I just recently tried to sail the Bella Moretta: very frustrating. The old ship mods...when they work, they work great and you can completely sail around the southern continent all the way from IC to Anvil. But when they don't work, you get CTD as soon as you activate the ship. Very unpredictable. There has to be a better way.
Jinxxed0
This would be awesome if it came with some sort of pirate guild/faction. Maybe fight against other pirates. And have series of missions and eventually become a captain with your own crew. They wouldn't follow you everywhere, just on treasure hunts or what ever pirates do. Rob boats, pillage small towns?
