Another legend of Zelda is in development for the wii, supposedly it will be "without a doubt, the last Zelda game as you know it in its present form."

 

I personally enjoyed the last zelda wii game, I never finished it though.

He also said that he would like to make the game to appeal both to the casual and the hardcore gamer.

This statement is trouble...

I am quite skeptical about this, I like zelda the way it is now...but perhaps the change will be good...:P

I don't disrespect developers for taking new directions with their games.

It shows that they're willing to try something new, and probably go back to what they had before if it doesn't work.

If you don't try a new direction, how do you know it won't work?

I might just get a HD ;D wii when it comes out, I hate the motion sensor so ill stick with a gamecube controller.

Well everyone seemed to despise Wind Waker, and I felt that was quite different (although still faithful to what LoZ are all about). It can't be a bad thing though.

I liked Wind waker, I never finished it though as the insanely long triforce trawl near the end pissed me of enough that I stopped playing it.

The ending was different, played it all the way through in one day, or was that 2. Good times.

I was hoping for the next Zelda to be in HD, oh well. They said Twilight Princess was going to be the last Zelda as we know it. You never really know with Miyamoto & Co., they love being mysterious. ;)

 

I agree with you about the triforce searching in Wind Waker, it was a bit tedious. I still loved the game though. I wasn't too happy about the style change at first but it grew on me. :)

I honestly feel that they should've just left Zelda after Majora's Mask. I haven't purchased any of the Zelda games released after Majora's Mask (N64 - I still have mine, i'm Retro k), though i have played/seen them and i personally think that they're rubbish and disgraces to the franchise.

I hope I'm not derailing this topic but adding this, but I thought for those who are Zelda fans, this might be of interest. Apparently a movie company decided to play a little April Fool's joke on Zelda fans and created this. I hope you enjoy it!

 

 

Since we're on the subject, I might as well say that the last Zelda I played was Link to the Past. The last boss I defeated was the worm thing in the mirror world where you have to knock off each of his body segments until you fight the head. Then I got stuck while trying to lead the fake princess out of the dungeon. My youngest sister plays the new one for Wii, the title of which escapes me. But I remember it has Sumo-wrestling rock men or something of the like. *Shrugs* I know, I don't have any idea what I'm talking about, do I....
