Sniperwhere
Well i keep getting kicked by Punkbuster for "Invalid O/S priviliges." I know what's causing the problem. it's my virus protection , Norton. Now, I can't just flat out disable the internet security or I risk my internet getting taken away.(dictatorship parents. <_<) Is there any certain part i can disable alone or is there another way around it? The parts I can disable are:AntivirusAntispywareAdvanced protection Smart FirewallIntrusion preventionEmail/message scanning Identity safeantiphishing Or do you think i should risk it and turn off the security and not let them know(don't really want to. :/) Edit: Nevermind. The Security's not the problem. I tried deactivation it and still got the same issue. <_< BTW, I'm running Vista. Anyone got any form of solution? phoneyLogic
Punk Buster needs the Admin Mode. But there is a workaround that you could run PB with lower privileges than Admin.Go here: http://www.pbbans.com/information.php?page=pbsvc In my feel this was a little buggy, just try or switch to Admin Privileges
Sniperwhere
I'll see how that works, thanks. Edit: Well, that took care of the O/S privilage error, but now i got a new one. Something about laking a required script or something. I'll get more info on that.
phoneyLogic
Maybe it is an update Error. For myself I use PBsetup for all my PB Games to update all Versions in one click. So you don't have to worry that PB is kicking you and Updating itself or whatever while you are gaming. It should work with PB Services and is a good addition since the Update of PB might be a little buggy. Link to download PB Setup
Sniperwhere
Took care of that last issue as well, but now theres something about a server communitaction failure. This almost seems like more touble than it works. But Kudo's anyways for getting me this far.
phoneyLogic
Haven't tried this on Vista yet, but maybe it works if you right-click on the Icon and then choosing 'Run as Administrator' (would uninstall PB Services, but PB Setup works well for me)
Sniperwhere
That's what i do. :/ Well, if i can repair the version on my XP, i can maybe run it fine on that. Nothing's been running right on my Vista even after all those service packs and updates.
mooney1982
Load up BF2, connect to a server. If it kicks you out again - this is probably because you have a newer version of pb than the server. No problem.
