I'm a new modder with a bit of a problem

So After I successfully managed to finally get my first mod up and running without it crashing people's games, I decided to try something else.

I first made my Divine Unicorn Mount mod and that worked out in the end with a bit of trial and error (and a lot of help from the TES CS Wiki).

From there on I thought, why not a swarm of housecats? So I did the same approach but this time made a leveled creature set using housecats I created.

I go to test it out and even though all the creatures have the player faction and using a follow AI package, when I summon them, they just attack each other and then me when all but one is dead.

Any clues how I can get this to work?

Player Faction is all you should need. It's the only one I give my companions. Maybe you'd like to download my House Cats mod and check out the scripts and spells. You can find everything under the prefix MA. For example MAHouseCat01.

I also make them Player Owned, so there's no reason why they should attack you or each other I can see.

To make them Player Owned you need to double click on each cat in the render screen and give it a reference. Then go to the ownership tab and select Player.

Also make sure in their AI tab that their aggression is set to no more than 10 and preferably 5.

Their script is soon going to be updated with a new one so they don't need the gems to give the summon spell however. But basically it's the same process.

I'm assuming their are meant to be companions and not summoned creatures.

Actually they are meant to be summons and they are meant to swarm my enemies with meowing death.

I also wanted to make it so that each time I summon them it would be a random selection of the 7 house cats I made. (eg, you might get multiple black cats and some others, or one of each, etc)

I'll see what I can do to fix it, I'll definately look at your house cats! They look much nicer than small mountain lions.

OK. My house cats are pets only so they have low confidence and aren't meant to fight.

For what you need you'll still have to make their aggression at around 5 and in the Player Faction. Summons don't need to be player owned but like vanilla summons they will attack you if you hit them a few times. You can stop that though by making them Player Owned. Higher aggression that what I've said will cause them to attack anything and everything.

If you want random selections that will be a bit more scripting that I can't do, unless you give each cat a separate summon spell, but that would get messy.

My Vampire Bats are multiple summons and they don't fight each other or me.

I used this tutorial and script for them, but the scripts have been changed a bit for multiples and I added the spell to an object and put it in a cave.

I think it is the aggression level. It needs to be five. I have had some bad experiences with all the NPC's in my mods killing each other. I hate it when my companion gets in a fight with a guard. I need to find a way to stop fights better. When my companion is fighting with the daedroth I summoned, I just summon a new daedroth.
