madcow12 Posted January 6, 2014 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Hi all, I've been mostly using Workshop until I found mods are better supported on Nexus and so installed NMM and SKSE and a few other mods but on launching the game, it CTD as soon as I see the skyrim logo at the start of the game. It's never recommended to install more than one mod at a time and never on an existing save game! First go through your BOSS log and apply any changes it suggests including removing unnecessary esp's (SoS - Civilization patches that are unused for example). If you still have crashes after that try the following steps: The following is standard trouble shooting for mod issues not pinned to a single mod (this is why you test every single mod in your install as you go, individually and with all your other mods - to pinpoint problems at the mod from the very beginning).First - have you verified your game files through steam and updated to the latest patch?Second - uncheck all your mods, start a new game, save after the chargen. This will be your 'tester save.' Do Not Overwrite or Delete this save.Third - Enable five mods.Four - Go into game with your tester save. Run from one end of the game world to the other. Go into a few cities. Interact with a few things that are mod related. See if anything crashes.Five - No crashes? Repeat 3-5. It crashed or something's not right? Go to step 6.Six - something crashed? uncheck one of the five mods then go back to your tester save, repeat step 4.Continue until you have found and fixed all crashing and freezing errors. These steps are relevant for all bethesda's moddable games (with the possible exception being step 1 which is unncessary for games older than NV). Shadeybladey Posted January 6, 2014 Share Posted January 6, 2014 Hi all, I've been mostly using Workshop Did you unsubscribe from your Workshop mods when you switched to getting them from The Nexus? If not, the Workshop will re-download them. In some cases, due to the size limit at The Workshop, it will download out of date versions and overwrite the Nexus ones. BOSS should catch that, especially with the Unofficial Patches, but it's worth checking. Then go through the trouble shooting Oubliette recommends. As a short cut, here is my Mod List from Plugins.txt - any I have that you have would be a safe place to start. Disable any others and see if you can run the game after re-sorting with the latest version of BOSS. Then follow Oubliette's advice for the others. What on Earth are you doing in your Skyrim.ini file? Before doing anything else at all, change it to this: [Papyrus]fPostLoadUpdateTimeMS=500.0bEnableLogging=1bEnableTrace=1bLoadDebugInformation=1iMinMemoryPageSize=128iMaxMemoryPageSize=512iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800 Then see if the game runs. If not, go back to post 3 and 2 and do that as well. But don't change iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes. Why on Earth would you want Papyrus to use that much RAM?
