Level Advancement Bug

I have encountered the level advancement bug seen in other forums at least 3 times. I am not playing Anniversary Edition or Survival mode.

But by accident I found a work around.

I found buying training did not advance the level even though I had received prompts about level up being available. I tried sleeping for multiple hours suggested by others also did not work.

This worked for me. Only done it once but will report back for my next level.

I am running a mod that allows you to buy stats and perks. the esp is BuyStatsPerks. After every attempt failed to advance a level, I bought a perk potion with this mod. When i consumed it, I got 2 perks, not one, and I advanced a level and was ready for next leveling.

No Idea why or how but that worked for me.

Honestly, an hour trying to reply to my own thread, FM seriously??????

I ran into this problem again and tried my fix above, didn't work. then spent hours trying things.

The problem, you get advance level prompt, you go to screen, no advance option, no perk.

My solution today.

1) you get the sound to advance and flashing bar, you go there, was level 17,  no prompt to increase level to 18, and no perk.

2) I used advanceskill to advance a level. set to 18.

3) went back to advance menu, "?", level up, no perk, most of my experience carried over 😞

4) tried player.advancelevel 17, ie, i  went back to my previous before I tried advance level.

5) opened advance level menu, viola, prompt to claim attribute points, perk added, accumulated experience reset.

Solved it all:-)

Possibly silly question (sorry if you addressed it, but I can't really read letters), but are you by chance using a mod called Experience?

I use that mod (and love it). One of the things it does is make it so gaining skill perk levels does not increase general levels. What you describe is basically what Experience does.

p.s. Hmm, I tried rereading your two posts several times, but I can't make sense of it (my vision failure, not your problem). But I think I misunderstood your problem. Please disregard my post. I can't figure out the topic. I'm sorry.
