The cause, issue and the fix:

"Hey guys, I found a fix. At some point in time you must have used Vortex or any other mod manager other than Witcher 3 Mod Manager. Every mod in the mods.settings has an additional unneeded fourth line". The line starts with the keyword " Vk= ..."

Go ahead and delete all of those Vk= lines. They don't do anything but break your game.

Doing this fixed the line 4 Script Merger error notice for myself, after having to use Vortex to install the Nude Witcher fmod installer which Witcher 3 Mod Manager could not handle.

I thought I'd post this tip "fix" for others that don't read Reddit posts (where I found this info), and as it helped rid the issue for myself. :D
