ypet5
OK iv'e thought for quite some time how cool would it be to duel wield pistols and one handed weapons. I have no moding skill and have never moded before but i would like this mod to be created
ArekkusuStorm
Are you asking for dual pistols just for cosmetics or are you actually asking for functional ones? Because the problem with that is that someone would need to create new animations for it otherwise you would be holding up one pistol to shoot.. with two projectiles - if even that. Even then you can't just add your new animations for it into the list of existing weapon animations - you would have to replace one of them, which would affect all other weapons using it. greenknightfury
From the countless times I've seen this same thing requested here, I can give you the answer most given and most supported by the experienced modders: "The game won't support this because of the way they programmed it." In the Elder Scrolls games it was part of the base programming and so is default, but with Fallout they purposely didn't add that capability. ypet5
i have heard that the game doesn't support this idea before but as Arekkusustorm said maybe just for cosmetics
devinpatterson
i have heard that the game doesn't support this idea before but as Arekkusustorm said maybe just for cosmetics No offense brother, but there are a *lot* of previous threads on the subject. And it is all about the animations. It's no problem to simulate firing two weapons, you can move the projectile around from gun barrel to gun barrel to simulate firing from two different pistols. But I don't think anyone is going to invest the time to make teh animations....it's a tall order.

ArekkusuStorm
When I mentioned 'just for cosmetics', I meant that it was possible to have the model there in the player's left hand through equipping it as a 'glove', but the player would only be gripping it (and 'using' it) by using a pose - otherwise, the hand would just take on the relaxed stance and the gun would be floating. Yeah, but as you point out, you'll still need an altered kf to have that secondary hand out there during the firing/aiming animation, better to go all the way have the kf include the recoil for the secondary hand and have the projectile node moved from gun to gun....I mean if a modder is going to invest in changing the animation. But having said that, in regard to the gun floating, you could have that secondary hand in a fist and then assign all of the finger bones from their proper vertex group to a single group on the arm, that way it would always be a fist as long as it's equipped and the animations of the fingers wouldn't affect/deform the fist at all. As long as it's assigned to an area close to the hand, I don't see any reason why it wouldn't look realistic.
ArekkusuStorm
Well, if you're just using dual pistols for the purpose of screen shots, animations wouldn't be necessary... Unless you're referring to the (static) pose as an animation, which I suppose is correct. Thats why I asked if ypet wanted functional ones or just for looks. In regards to the fist, that's something I didn't know, being able to retain it's form. Edited January 9, 2014 by ArekkusuStorm
