EnvyMachinery
An armor mod I'm using has a modified mesh of the base body I have and I'm trying to add a custom normal map to fit with it. I've assigned the texture to the model in Nifskope, but curiously no texture changes I make to the body mesh specifically show up in-game. I've tried taking off all other pieces of equipment and messing with my skin tone and tintmasks in the race menu, but nothing's worked. I can't imagine what could be causing this conflict. scorrp10
The wearer's 'naked skin' armor (set individually or via race) has a 'skin texture set' on its armor addons. Any worn item that has a body part (skin shader) will use that texture set. Not whatever you assign to body mesh.
EnvyMachinery
Does that mean there's no way to do this?
scorrp10
If armor is for an NPC, you can assign a custom naked skin to that NPC and use whatever texture set you want on that. If it is for player, you can probably define a custom race, and have naked skin for that race use the textures you want. Another option is change the body mesh shader type to something else, but then it likely will not look quite like skin and it will be nearly impossible to match body to head. EnvyMachinery
Ah, good idea on changing the shader; I'll see if I can get something acceptable. Thank you for the help.
