Recommended Posts

I have tried and and tried to get the CS Lightsabre mod to work with my existing save game in FO3 however it nevert works. Ever. Period, end of story. I have tried to search the forum for an entry on how to do a clean save. Information overload and nothing to show or tell me step by step. Can someone please help me?

Please explain what you mean by a "clean save".

If you mean, one without mods then you would need to uninstall the game, reinstall (make a backup copy of your "clean" data folder at this time) and go from there.

Cheers.

to do a "Clean Save":

load up your last save,

go to an interior cell without any npc's (My Megaton House is fine),

save your game and quit,

using your preferred launcher, turn off the plugins (.esm or .esp) you want to update,

launch again, load your last save (it will say some stuff is missing, that's because you turned it off, just continue),

when you're loaded, save the game again (this is the "Clean Save") and quit,

delete the old plugin(s) and install the new ones,

using your launcher, turn on the plugins and launch,

load up your last (Clean) save and away you go.

this ensures that no data from the last version remains in the savegame.

Ah, is that all it is? Thanks. Will this work regardless of which mods were being used, mate?

Cheers.
