World War III rpg

Alright, since the rp I was in is pretty much dead, I'll start one myself. To join, PM me with character sheet, then post it here after I accept it.

Story/Setting

The year is 2015 and World War III is raging across the world. The war started 8 years ago and there is no end to be seen. The war started after U.S. intelligence reports revealed that Russia was supplying terrorists with weapons and intelligence reports about american troop movements in the middle east. Russia denied it, but the U.S. had strong proof and the UN quickly chose sides in the conflict. During a meeting with the world's leaders in Madrid, Spain, unknown terrorists detonated a nuclear charge in the city, and millions of lives were lost.

There was no proof aganst anyone, but the whole world blamed Russia. By mid-2007, the U.S., Australia and most of Europe had formed an alliance and declared war on Russia, this alliance became known as the International Defence Organization, IDO. IDO was prepared for a quick victory, but all was not how it seemed to be. Russia was many times stronger than IDO, and they proved their power by annihilating the whole continent of Australia.

By 2011, terrorist organizations from all over the world had joined Russia, and spies were everywhere. Russia's new alliance with terrorists was called the New Soviet Union and many fell for it's incredible war machine. At this time being, IDO struggles for power in Europe and the New Soviet Union seems pretty much unstoppable.

Classes

Obviously, we're with the IDO. Here are classes with standard equipment. Note that all classes have basic supplies, flashlights, extra batteries, tents, food supplies, yadda yadda. Also note that all pilots/crewmen of any vehicle are basically Light infantry with special training.

Light Infantry-Equipped with a Medium/Heavy Submachinegun, a Semi-Automatic Handgun and a couple of frag grenades, these men make up the backbone of the IDO army. Often sent into battle with basic training and in large numbers, a group of light infantry troops can handle most situations.

Heavy Infantry-Equipped with a Light/Medium/Heavy Machinegun, two Semi-Automatic Handguns and a bullet-proof vest, the heavy infantry deals good damage, untill his machinegun runs out of ammo, that is. The machinegun is quite heavy and only two or three magazines are taken into battle. However, the bullets are armor-piercing and a group of five can probably handle any light tank sent their way.

Engineer-Equipped with a Semi-Automatic rifle, a Semi-Automatic Handgun and his toolbox, the engineer makes up his loss of firepower with important skills in machinery. Being able to repair most vehicles makes him a good ally in wartime.

Medic-Equipped with a Light Submachinegun, a Semi-Automatic Handgun, a first-aid kit and a bullet-proof vest, the medic uses his medical talents to heal injured allies in battle. Medics are always needed, and therefore always targeted by the enemy, a dangerous job.

Anti-Tank/Air Soldier-Equipped with either a mighty Anti-Tank or an Anti-Air rocket launcher that locks on target, a Semi-Automatic Handgun and several grenades, the anti-tank soldier packs a good punch on tanks and aircraft. The rocket launcher is very heavy to carry around and when the situation starts looking to ugly, it's best to drop it and make your way home.

Scout-The scout plays an important part in any war, gathering intelligence on troop movements and placing targets for atillery bombardements and airstrikes.

Equipped with a Light Submachinegun, a Semi-Automatic Handgun, a pair of binoculars and equipment to place targets(smoke cans and a laser targeting device), the Scout can take care of himself pretty good.

Sniper-The sniper often kills undiscovered, equipped with a Long-Range Rifle, a Semi-Automatic Handgun and two different telescopic sights(one with IR technology for night aiming, and a regular one for daytime), snipers are deadly at any hour.

Alright, here we go.

Name-Miguel "Boss" Morano

Sex-Male

Age-31

Class-Heavy Infantry

Rank-Private

Appearance-Miguel stands almost 7 feet tall and his big muscles show the effect of carrying a heavy machinegun around for years. He's got a black crop and thick stubble growing in his face and ingrained dirt and camouflage paint everywhere.

Personality-Miguel can be quite unfriendly aginst people he doesn't know, but mostly he is very casual and calm. A brave fighter, he inspires others to great deeds. Miguel's biggest problem is his sometimes foolish bravery.

Background-Born in Barcelona, Spain, Miguel had a good life untill 2007 when most of his family was killed by the nuclear explosion in Madrid. Miguel and his brother Luis were left penniless since they got no heritage at all from their parents. They both quickly joined the army. Luis was sent to Australia two months before it was bombed to pieces while Miguel was sent back along the lines with a retreating armor regiment.

By 2010 his regiment was sent back to the front in southern Japan where they have now spent five years fighting the soviets. Miguel's squadron hasn't been to any base at all for the last three months and most of their regiment has been bombed apart.

Equipment-Apart from his basic equipment, of which half is lost or destroyed, Miguel owns nothing at all.

Skills-Miguel is very strong, even for a man his size. Even though his weapon doesn't offer much accuracy, he's learned to shoot it with fairly good aim. After serving a six months or so in a tank, he's also learned to handle a Crusader fairly good.
