Wrye Bash's Face Import

So I wanted to change my character's height (while keeping the same face). Couldn't find any mods that did that, so I thought changing races and importing an old face would work. I changed my character's race with "showracemenu," saved, and imported an older save's face onto the new save's face. The result was a face that resembled the old face, but not accurately enough (beauty is a delicate thing!). I assume it is because each race has intrinsic physical characteristics that can't be completely copied/removed. I tried tinkering manually with the face sliders, but after 30+ minutes, I wasn't any closer to getting back my old face. So, I enact plan B: ask for advice on this helpful forum :).

I can think of a few possible solutions:

1. A better program for importing faces (couldn't find any program besides Wrye Bash)

2. A mod that makes the "default" faces for the races the same.

3. A mod that let's you take face sliders to greater extremes than the -1000 to +1000

4. A mod that changes character height

Any mod out there I overlooked that would solve my problem? Appreciate any and all help :thanks:

Er... well, the face shape is determined by:

- Base mesh shape

- Facegen slider values

(Also, racial facegen setting matters)

So, if you make a face, then import it to other character that is different race, it can look different than your original face. You can make a face with SI Facegen Modeller, then forcefully apply it to your save via 'Facegen to Oblivion Converter', but it can give you unexpected result if the head mesh that your race uses is other than vanilla or throttlekitty's Head06 Base(Believe me, Corean head mesh gives me the worst result when I applied Facegen face).

I didn't try SI Facegen Modeller because I don't want to make a face. I already have one; it just doesn't copy over very accurately.

I tried Face Exchange Lite; the result was seemingly the exact same resemblence-but-not-quite face that Wrye Bash produced.

ElderFaceLift didn't turn out so well... is there any way to change racial facegen settings?

You should use Construction Set to change race settings. Or, you can use Generic Faces, which is a mod resets all facegen value to 0 at character creation(Note: Since Generic Faces edits RACE information, it conflicts to all cosmetic mods.. And also your existing characters may not look right with Generic Faces).

Your simplest solution is to go back to your original race with your original face, and create a copy of that race (custom race). Then adjust the height of this new race to what you want, and change your character to the new race.

****Take note that changing your race, if done incorrectly, will reset some of your stats****
