wfandrews
I just started to set up FO4 for a new play through after not playing it for quite a while. I am playing version 1.10.163. I noticed my fps is capped at 42fps so I went to my NVIDIA control panel and set it at 65fps just to see how it would run at that setting. The game played fine at 42fps but I would like to play it at a higher rate. The setting in NVIDIA control panel did not change my fps at all. I am playing Skyrim SSE AE so I went to my control panel and changed the fps for that game just to see if maybe I am doing something wrong in trying to set the fps in the control panel but the fps for Skyrim SSE AE increased the new fps to the rate I set. I would like to know how to change my fps for this game as setting my fps in NVIDIA control panel has pretty much shot my bolt in knowing how to adjust my fps. Any help would be appreciated. xrayy
1 .search and download "nvidia inspector" and the "profile inspector" 1.9.8.7. version or newer.2. search your game in the profile inspector and activate nvidia fps slider.3. to get most stable gameplay set this to 60 fps to avoid any fps related side effects.4. check your game ini settings and enb if you use it that their config do not interfere. in best case disable these settings.5. check for any other tools or dlls or mods manipulating your setup unintentionally

wfandrews
I did as you suggested xrayy and unfortunately there was no change in my in game fps. As I recall I had a similar problem a few years ago in one of the Elder Scrolls games. I downloaded a mod which eliminated any fps cap. I wonder if there is any such mod for FO4. That mod solved my problem in that game as after eliminating any cap I then entered the cap I desired in EnBoost. Of course I do not have EnBoost for FO4 but I can readjust the cap in NVIDIA control panel and profile inspector. Might work, might not.

wfandrews
I found the problem. In my NVIDIA Control Panel I changed Vertical Sync from "use 3D Application Setting" to "On" this caused my fps to run at the designated frame rate in the profile inspector and NVIDIA Control Panel. So you were right, I did not have the correct settings. Thank you for your help.
