Exiting out of game?

It has been a while since I have had this problem with the game and I have forgotten how I solved it back then.

 

When I exit out of the game I get the Fallout 3 has stopped working message.

 

Could anyone tell me what the solution to this is?

I usually exit by entering qqq into the console, it kills it there and then.

Thanks for the suggestion jimboUK but I got the same result as when I exited normally; the old "Fallout has stopped working".

That's odd, anyway try NVAC https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/53635 I know it says New Vegas but it works for Fallout 3, requires FOSE https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/8606

I tried NVAC with the same result.

 

I believe this is caused by MCTF and my not configuring that mod properly. That is the only new mod I have installed that I can think of which would cause this.

 

Are you familiar with this mod?

 

It's full, rather cumbersome, name is "Fallout3 WinXP-7-8-10 Multicore Threading 4GB LAA with 4GB FOSE Setup".

I've not used that mod, it's worth asking in the comments to see what the author says.

I never got an answer on the page.

 

Does not matter now as I just started exiting normally.

 

I have no idea what changed as I have done nothing that would change anything as far as I know. I have not installed or uninstalled any mods; I have changed nothing in any ini files; I have changed nothing yet all of sudden the game is exiting normally. I guess I will just chalk it up the normal whims of a computer.
