hi guys!

I have problems with shivering isles...I installed it twice, but the quest isnt starting. But I accidantely found the island with the strange gate and walked in there and came into this room with a table, two chairs and a metronome. then I tried to start the quest with cheating but I have to cheat every time I finished a quest stage. after cheating I found this guy in this room. I talked with him and said, that I want to get on the island and then he stood up and the game stopped...well it doesnt really stopped, it just stayed in this look-around-view-thing, and I just could look around. I wasnt even able to stand up from the chair. and now I dont know what to do...

btw...I waitet a few days for the quest to get start...(actually I was sitting in jail for about one week =P)

greetings

Did you install SI after you installed the Oblivion 1.2.0.416 patch? Doing so can mess up your game. In such a case, you would have to reinstall Oblivion, then install SI and then the 1.2.0.416 patch.

If this doesn't work, maybe you should try the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and the Unofficial Shivering Isles patch and see if they help.

Shivering Isles does not start instantly. It may take several game days before you get the message about it. You may need the patch if you did not get the latest version.

There is also a possible problem if you have the wrong Oblivion Patch installed. If you do not have an Oblivion patch, ONLY use the Shivering Isles patch. DO not install any Oblivion patches.

Also, there may be problems if either SI or Oblivion is the downloaded version and the other is not from the same source. ie, if your Oblivion is a disk and you try to use the downloaded version of Shivering Isles.

ok, I reinstalled everything and instaklled the patches but now the island is completely gone...

If you uninstalled it you may have to go to your data files and check the .esp.

When you start Oblivion, don't click play, instead click "data files" in the box that appears with the music playing.

Go down to dlcshiveringisles.esp and check the box. The island should appear.

The DLCs and Shivering Isles get added automatically, so you don't have to activate them from the data menu
