SandMouseAnarchy
I've just looked through the starfield esm and the book Cora specifically asks for, Stephen hawkin's: a brief history of time - doesn't exist... It's a sad day...
zanity
No loss- The worst 'physicist' ever to hold that chair. His book laughably claimed the universe can only have one of two properties - ever slowing expansion or an eventual collapse. Because- 'science'. Shortly afterwards it was proven by undeniable evidence that the universe is expanding at an accelerating rate. He believed in the CREATIONIST theory of the big bang, and again our current instrumentation proves every laughable pseudo-science claim for the big-bang is false. A true scientist doesn't go along with populist trends for sales and political support. And most certainly doesn't push disguised religious ideas as 'science'. There is no difference at all between "the Earth was made by a deity x thousands of years ago" and "the Universe was made by a deity y billions of years ago". Both are the self same tactic. BTW our current best instrumentation shows an essentially homogeneous Universe no matter how distant or far back in time we look. In other words the scientific proof we have is for a possibly infinite Universe that has possibly always existed, that is essentially similar everywhere on the grand scale. SandMouseAnarchy
@Zanity Lol! You have to be joking right? Tell me you've never read anything by Stephen Hawking without telling me you've never read anything by Stephen Hawking. I'll have to assume you're joking because BTW - our "current best instrumentation" "shows" us nothing of the sort. Maybe you'd like to clarify which instrumentation you're referring to here? Furthermore by any of the greatest minds of our time Stephen Hawking is considered among of them, most notably for his work on black holes, which I needn't remind us all is underpinned by dark energy and defacto the dark energy expansion of the universe. Please tell me you're joking
daemonchill
also there is no undeniable evidence of expansion.. if anything recent evidence is refuting expansion and proving some of hawking's more far out ideas correct so... um.. no :^D
Taluntherat
Man, so the book isn't in the game? That sucks. BTW, James Webb images have show distant objects moving at different speeds suggesting they are moving away from a central point in space.
SandMouseAnarchy
Nope - I checked in xedit earlier too and it's definitely not there. Also - things in the universe aren't 'moving away from a central point' rather the central point is everywhere and everything is expanding from everything else. MisterKen
Even if it did exist there isn't an option to actually give her books. There's a brief interaction about creds, but that isn't a book. Lost opportunity by Bethesda -- could have easily given her books, but they didn't want to. re: blackholes, if only, but no. Standard plasma physics more than adequately describes the plasma z-pinch at the center of stars and at the center of galaxies, the z-pinch being the reason for stars and galaxies at all. You can even recreate the phenomenon at our scale in plasma labs, and first year students do it all the time. No magic blackholes needed, sorry Steven. SandMouseAnarchy
I don't know about that, afterall we have images of black holes I'm really enjoying the papers coming out about dark stars being the parents to supermassive black holes. Very cool stuff.

SkullBunny69
I just stopped in to see if anyone's found this f*#@ing book. Stayed for the armchair physicist debate. You guys are hilarious !!! Cheers!
