NexusBob42
Since I have a lot of mods installed I run into this problem where the game slows to a crawl and stutters a lot after some time playing. I notice that this happens when the RAM usage increases to ca. 1500-1700 MB. I also notice that the RAM never increases above this and eventually the game becomes unplayable. I have 6 GB of system RAM and 4 GB of graphics card RAM. I have tried numerous EXE fixes (that should allow the app to be able to handle > 2 GB of RAM) but this hasn't helped. Are there any fixes for this?

Are there any fixes for this? If you've already done this, then you've done the only thing you can. I am curious what LAA haks you've used. I employed the FO3 one myself (see the eighth post in this thread on the BSN) as soon as I discovered it when I was dealing with all the CtD problems from the 1.03 patch. Worked great  What patch do you have installed? 1.05 was released to fix some DLC authorization issues, and the ever-increasing load times that players with DX10/10.1 video cards were having. By the way, even with such a hak, the best you can do for a 32-bit application is 4GB minus however much RAM your OS requires. And note that if you apply a game patch it will replace an edited .exe with the vanilla one, so you have to re-edit it after patching.
NexusBob42
Yes, the tool you posted indicates my .exe was patched properly. Has anyone been able to achieve a higher RAM usage of Dragon Age, or prevented the slowdown and stuttering after playing for a while with texture mods? Thandal
Ahhh... texture mods. The impact those have on the game is more a function of the capabilties of your specific video card and driver than anything else. What are your rig's tech specs? Thandal
So, from the specs your rig should be able to handle anything the game throws at it, but obviously isn't.Did you apply the 1.05 patch, (then re-apply the LAA hak)? Only other thing I can think of is to remove the texture mods and see what happens. If that fixes the problem then you have to decide which is more annoying... the appearance, or the stuttering!
NexusBob42
I think the problem is that I have installed a lot of texture packs and it is more than the game engine can handle. If I restart the game occasionally it is fine again.
Thandal
Wait, what? You have installed a lot of texture packs?!? Ok... "There's your problem, Lady."
