Ok Im new here, no doubt someone has asked this question many time before, but bare with me.

I have the HGEC body replacer. If I download a clothing mod for the origninal Exnem EyeCandy, will it work? Do I need to get both?

Thanks.

hgec you need HGEC clothing and armors only

I don't use Eye Candy nor HGEC, but I do not believe this is quite correct. As far as I know, the issue is more with body shape difference, but if you choose to use a mod for original Eye Candy you should not have any body texture weirdness since the skin texture areas share the same type of texture with HGEC.

Also if it's a full cover armor with no exposed skin, if you don't mind your body type changing it isn't a problem. I use HGEC/EC armors like this all the time even though I use a different body mod entirely.

your correct there. It will alter the body. If he's happy with that its cool. I use scantie items so staying with my body preference is a must for me!

I also use HGEC. I have tried armor based on other mods with it and have seen no texture problems unless it was a problem with the armor mod itself. From reading done to learn modding, The armor does not fit over your chosen body shape. The armor replaces the upper or lower body. Therefore, use whatever armor you want. The best way to demonstrate this is download any of the D, E, or H cup armors but set your character to A or AA cup and see what happens. There may be however, some mods that were made to be dependent upon the body replacers but this is unlikely as all of them I have seen so far are loaded as ESP files, not ESM files. Where you may find some incompatible effects would be if you chose translucent armor or lingerie, then your chosen nipple texture and lower hair choices may not show up properly, but I have never tried this, so don't know.

OOPs, adding an edit here. While the ESP may not be Dependent on another ESP, it may reference folders and files installed by a particular mod but not installed by the one you downloaded. This shouldn't happen, but may. Also, I do know for sure that it works with Exnem mods, after re-reading the read-me for HGEC to verify what I said, HGEC is a modification/extension of Exnems original Eye Candy. But I have used lots of Exnem labeled armors with no problems.

Overall, my recommendation is to ignore the HGEC and other labels on the armor, try what you like, if you have no problem with the textures and meshes that you cannot live with, then use it and enjoy.
