Ships stopped opening after landing.

Hello, there is a problem that is not yet well known and I have tried to find solutions to this.

The problem: The random ships landing after mine, on a planet or elsewhere, will no longer open, nor do they have any troops around them, even when boarding a ship in space by disabling their reactors, this leads to having no one inside as well, you don't even get the little "kill people or leave" quest when you do this.

A few been talking about it on steam forums, there : https://steamcommunity.com/app/1716740/discussions/0/3882722163300633600/?tscn=1695875676

Personally I have a mission that is totally blocked because of this, Altair system groundpounder quest where a ship lands and is supposed to drop enemies to fight but it doesn't open.
The mission isn't really the worst part but the ground ship stealing mechanic doesn't work at all anymore, which is a pretty fun part of the game.
Some say this problem comes from an update or maybe something that triggers it.

Anyone know anything more about it ? A mod to fix it maybe ah~

Hi, Sephirothcetras! I did see your post in the Steam forum about that, but as I had no answer or knowledge of the issue, other than what had already been posted, I did not see a reason to respond. As for fixes, until the release of xEdit or the CK, the only potential fixe would be a console command - which is just as likely to result in breaking other things as it is in fixing things. The very best thing to do, is to roll back to an earlier save - which should be the first things tried in the vast majority of cases - use of commands is purely a very last resort, and only in cases where the command has been verified to work and has no negative consequences.

As I have mentioned numerous times on Steam, as well as on other sites, when a bug, or what is suspected to be a bug, is encountered, the best thing is to report it to Bethesda. From the PINNED TOPIC Helpful Links, References, and News, right at the very top, there is this:

TO REPORT ISSUES IN GAME TO BETHESDA, GO TO:

At that site, you will see a list of 9 options - one of which, by the way, is for suggestions, so it you (or anyone) has any ideas of what they would like to see in the game or see changed, that's also the place to go to suggest it.
I wish I could give you better information than what I did, but at this time, we are all still finding out and discovering things about the game.
Good luck!

Unfortunately, xXMaxPayneXx - Andrew - MO2 (and in fact any manager) is not compatible with Starfield yet - but it is being worked on.

Furthermore, you are using a mod Burden Me Not, that is absolutely not safe to use - it contains an .esp file, and at this point in time, not only is there much that is unknown about the structure for Starfield plugins, also, without using the proper tools, such as the Creation Kit and xEdit, there is no way to properly create a plugin or, for that matter, many mods.

At this point, except for pure retextures, and the simplest of .ini adjustments (or StarUi which consists of only some .swf files, and is safe to use), any other mods should really be considered for use with a great deal of trepidation - and it would be better not to, unless a person is prepared for the possibility that their game may break and their will not be a fix for it and they accept that risk.

And due to all that is not yet known about Starfield, even for those of us with a lot of experience, there is still much we do not know. So, at this point, often the best help we can give is negative help - as in saying "Don't do that." In time, that will change - but that time is not now.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, Andrew. But, reinstalling and testing with no mods is probably the best thing to do right now.

Good luck!

Did someone really suggest "report the bug to Bethesda". Am I going mad? Do I live in an alternate reality where knowledge of UNFIXED bugs in the base version of Fallout and Skyrim across the years, despite the most accurate reporting and documentation AND description of actual coding fixes, now goes unknown? Do the community unofficial patches, that correct literally THOUSANDS of frontline bugs Beth couldn't be bothered to fix across DOZENS of so-called official updates no longer exist?

The WORST most hopeless act is to report anything to Bethesda. The best thing is to document the bug on community resources like forums and wikis, so MODDERS can fix the bug just as soon as the tools become available.

The general advice is- YES Starfield is full of bugs, and is in many ways more bug than working game. But at the same time Starfield has MORE modder attention than previous Beth games, so an entire legion of experienced and wannabe modders are chomping at the bit to fix them, or better replace the rotten Beth systems with vastly improved ones.

In time, the entire game is going to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. So many people want 'fallout' and 'Skyrim' in space, and so many people appreciate just how awful an effort in being this Starfield currently is. Actually vanilla Starfield could not be worse (in design, ambition and world building). It and Cyberpunk are the two massive open world failures from companies that once had stellar reputations in the genre.
