Actually, he could do any number of things to rectify the situation. First, is he using only NMM or is he using Steam as well? Which manor did he actually install the mods? Where did he get said mods? It isn't at all safe to presume he actually knows what he is doing considering he "just started modding" Skyrim. Some of you think you know more than you actually know about "treating" a problem. Be helpful rather than assume.

I second MODinsane with the mod list. Should this person even know what their mod list is, orders or any other terminology used.

I'd suggest:

Disable all mods

Create Backup Save

Disable all mods

Run Skyrim

(If everything is alright)

Run skyrim again with the first mod enabled

(If same result, rinse and repeat)

Once Skyrim shows the problem again, you'll know the mod in conflict, whether that be order or simply a bad mod install that is wrong.

Ensure you have read the full descriptions of each mod and installed them properly with corresponding mod patches if needed.

And

Read the full description and user guide of this

Download BOSS (GUI) here: https://code.google.com/p/better-oblivion-sorting-software/

Then go here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/25859/?

Watch every video, follow every instruction.

The reason most of the replies made suggestions regarding animation related mods is because the 'T-pose' is a classic symptom of improper or incomplete installation of animation files. In modded Skyrim, this generally has been reported by users of FNIS, who did not follow the exact instructions provided by FNIS' author. In other words, they are speaking from experience.

But I replied really just to clarify some things....

- Most animation mods do not come with plugins, especially animation replacers. Disabling plugins in the load order will likely not help users troubleshoot animation mods.

- While disabling plugins can help to troubleshoot problems caused by mods that do come with plugins, do not bother making save games after disabling "all mods." This is a quick way to make 'corrupt' save games, especially if the user has a large load order, with mods that utilized continually updating scripts.
