More cities and towns on habitable planets

It has been hundreds of years since the evacuation and the intro says everyone was evacuated. Well, where are they! If making large cities are an issue for the game then how about making more of them on the planets? And they aren't run down, built out of shipping container hovels, but real buildings made from local resources. The people are leading productive lives and not sitting in mud puddles crying and complaining that nobody will give them everything they need.

...My character was a street rat who managed to get a mining position then has gone out bounty hunting and has millions of credits...why did Bethesda think the way to go was so many sitting around doing nothing for themselves and bitching because someone else isn't giving them what they want.....heh kinda like me with this post! If I could mod I would work on this. I tried making a cabin in Skyrim and that turned into a mess...

But it would be nice to come across meaningful cities and towns with positive overall experiences.

Agreed. More towns, and a few of them maybe bumped up in size?

Big list of systems:

  • Alpha Centauri
    • Jemison: New Atlantis feels fine for what it is, but the planet's so friendly to humans, why not add a couple other cities elsewhere?
    • Gagarin: Considering it's an "Abandoned mech construction planet" I feel it's doing well enough.
  • Sol
    • Mars: Cydonia's a bit small for being the dominant Sol-Era city. Other cities could be founded which would be of similar size to current Cydonia.
    • Titan: Hopetown's decent, but why not a couple of other mini-towns, trying to harvest from more of the moon? New Homestead would be the original, tourist friendly (mostly) one, but others could still offer their own content.
  • Narion
    • Niira: 1-of-a-Kind Salvage is more of a big warehouse. I feel Gel could have built a small town there for all the would-be salvagers who show up, as well as several tradesmen who want to purchase without going through the hunt themselves. Niira was also supposed to be a habited world before the xenowarfare war destroyed it, maybe some remnant cities?
    • Sumati: A very habitable planet just a skip away from Niira, and yet it just has a bland outpost? Would be the perfect post-war planet for refugees of Niira to flee to.
  • Valo
    • Polvo: Why is HopeTown so tiny? This is supposed to be a major hub for Hopetech, but all you have is a small tavern, a Ranger's station, a gun shop, and Hopetech's warehouse.
  • Volii
    • Volii Alpha: A whole planet of water but only a single rig to stand on? You'd think that Xenofresh at least would have a few other rigs to help with their fishing operations.
    • Volii Epsilon: A remarkably Earth-like planet with forests, deserts, and a whole lot of ocean, but no major city here either. A skip away from Neon, this would be the perfect world for folk to get away from the over-the-ocean city.
  • Cheyenne
    • Akila: There's Akila City, who's current size makes sense, and then a couple of generic outposts that don't. Akila City was founded by Solomon, with a wall around it to protect from Ashta, but what of the generic outposts? 1: They should have walls too, and 2: Some of the slum-flood from Akila should be filtered out to them. I don't mean reduce citizen number, just that the lore fits that if so many people want to live on the Freestar "homeworld", there should be more cities.
    • Codos: The magnetosphere and atmosphere are worse than Akila, but otherwise perfectly habitable. Put a city or two here.
    • Montara Luna: A low-grav farmworld seems ripe for farmland and even a trade-city to help ship the stuff out, but all it has is the single farm and generic outpost.
  • Porrima
    • Porrima II: I get it, Paradiso owns the entire planet, but they should have at least a couple of hubs that people could land at for spread-out resort zones.
    • Porrima III: While the world has heavy caps, there's still a sizeable unfrozen zone to it that could support a couple of cities that are less Red Mile-ish.

That's not even getting into the the nicest unaligned habitable planets are pretty much uninhabited. Nesoi in Olympus ought to have bustling settlements all over it. Nesoi has an atmosphere with ~20% oxygen, has gravity of 1.04g, and a distinct lack of the giant bugs that plague nearly every other habitable planet.
