InDarkestNight
...transform while in Apocrypha? Sorry, I couldn't up with a title that wouldn't constitute a spoiler. I've only ever completed the dragonborn questline three times. I was just thinking of the undeath mod, which got me wondering; what would happen if I died in aprophya while transformed? Obviously, you need to be in human form to read the black book in the first place. I would guess that you would also need to be in human form to exit the black book (at least unless you're playing with a mod that lets you use activatables while in non-human form). So, if you decided for whatever reason to turn into a werewolf, vampire lord, or lich while in aprophya and you died, what would happen? Would the game crash? Would you re-appear on Nirn in your monster form or your human form? I haven't started my latest playthrough yet, so I'm nowhere near testing this out for myself. IsharaMeradin
This is from the UESP Wiki: If you die in Apocrypha, you are simply removed from the realm and returned to the location in Solstheim where you used the book. You can also return to Solstheim from within the realm by reading any Black Book inside Apocrypha; the book does not have to be the same one that you used to enter the realm. The exception to this is the battle with Miraak. I suspect then to answer your question, if you die while transformed, you'll be ported back to where you read the book. Whether you are in human form or transformed form, I cannot say.
InDarkestNight
Sadly, my first playthrough will be as a mage, so I won't be a werewolf or vampire (I'm not playing with undeath this run, despite being a mage). My next playthrough will be a stealth character, who MAY become a vampire. Of course, the volkihar questline isn't all that great for stealth builds. Maybe it would be better to be a vampire for the mage run, since honestly mage characters probably work better with a STUPID QUESTLINE WHERE YOU'RE FORCED TO HAVE A STUPID ASS FOLLOWER. God I hate Serana. She ruins bloody everything, she reanimates your precious thralls, she's glitching out all the bloody time forcing you to end your playthroughs early, and you have no choice but to tolerate her for the majority of the dawnguard/volkihar questline REGARDLESS OF WHICH SIDE YOU TAKE. f*#@ serana btw. Never could understand why she's so popular.
IsharaMeradin
She is popular for the same reasons that she is disliked. She sandboxes. She'll use stuff and move around when you are not busy moving about yourself. This is great, wonderful and 'immersive' until you get into a conversation with an NPC and she decides to walk between idle markers and shoves you about the area.
