Flamingo Shakes
I am not good with computers, I am more of a console person so I was wondering if my computer can run smoothly playing Fallout 3. The only other game I have on the computer is The Sims 3 which runs real well. So does anybody think that because The Sims 3 worked well that maybe Fallout 3 will work. Thanx for reading. :thanks:

Pronam
If find it hard to believe that it would run that well..but at the other hand, sims-games are known to run at a wide variety of systems..Fallout3 is a hard one to run.. If you don't meet the requirements.. you'll not be able to start the game, just the main-menu.. Minimum requirements for Fallout3: * Windows XP/Vista * 1GB System RAM (XP)/ 2GB System RAM (Vista) * 2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor (Runs fine on 2.2 Ghz AMD athlon or equivalent processor) * Direct X 9.0c compliant video card with 256MB RAM (NVIDIA 6800 or better/ATI X850 or better) I wouldn't take the gamble on this one.. Any thoughts on this Thor? ---Indeed Terminator... Welcome to the forums!
TheTerminator2004
If it can run the sims 3, Fallout *should* be playable, barely, although tbh I find it hard to believe that system can run the sims 3 well. I have a better system than that, and I struggle. Takes about 5 minutes to load anything, and the neighborhood screen is really laggy. And welcome to the forums! :D
Mavrosh
It will run as my old cpmputer was pretty much the same. Just be prepared that you will have to keep the graphic settings low and still will have pretty low fps when it comes to fightw with more than one enemy... Also you might experience graphic card overheating pretty fast. :) Yes, and welcome! :)
apocalypse1138
He definately needs a better video card... he has a ati radeon x300... he needs an x850 or better...
TheTerminator2004
He definately needs a better video card... he has a ati radeon x300... he needs an x850 or better... You can play it fine on less than an x850. Like I said, Oblivion ran fine on my old x600, and Fallout 3 is pretty much the same requirements-wise, as they use the same engine. An x300 should be able to run it... barely. It won't be pretty though, and will probably massively spoil the game.
apocalypse1138
Hmm, from experience though, I know ati x300 can be totally unable to play some games... Like enemy territory: quake wars, my graphics card can't pull off anything in that game, and it is impossible to acttually do anything...
Mavrosh
As I said, he needs to turn the graphics really low and it will work but stutter here and there. A better graphic card is recommended as the difference is amazing! When I got my new system, both -Fallout and Oblivion - have been like new games to me!
