The Wanderer's Legacy

I noticed that the engine for Fallout: New Vegas is a little bit more advanced than that of Fallout 3. The aiming crosshairs for the weapons are better improved, and the movements of the characters (when they run or walk, armed or unarmed) are better. I was also pleased with the fact that they let you select an age for your character. This gave me an idea for a project I had in mind.

For those of you who have seen my previous threads, you know me as someone who once proposed a Fallout 1 remake. Well, now I'm going to talk about something that I'm going to try doing personally through the use of the GECK. FNV is not essentially a sequel. Sure, the timeline is four years after Fallout 3; but the settings, characters, and plot are completely different. While there are fans creating Project Brazil as an expansion game, I'm thinking about creating one myself. I'm calling it "The Wanderer's Legacy".

Fallout 3 is set in the year 2277, exactly two hundred years after the nuclear holocaust. The Lone Wanderer (the player character from F03) is born in 2258. This means that he/she is 19. So, if the Wanderer were to be let's say 64, then the year would roughly be 2322. Okay, now straight to the point. The story will be set forty-five years after the events of Fallout 3. The Wanderer, now the new leader and Head Paladin of the Brotherhood of Steel's Lyons' Pride, is sent to the wasteland of Miami, Florida after receiving intel from a lost patrol warning everyone about a movement threatening somehow to resurrect the Super Mutant Master from Fallout 1. This movement plans to rebuild the Super Mutant Army and to continue the world invasion that they had planned before being defeated by the Vault Dweller in the Californian Wasteland. While arriving at Miami, the Wanderer also encounters the Enclave. Other than the Hellfire Armor, I wonder what an Enclave Power Armor Mark III or Mark IV would look like. However, with the new Super Mutant threat at their wake, the Brotherhood and the Enclave have one choice: they are to work together. The Wanderer, however, will be reluctant by this because of his/her bad history with the Enclave. There will be quests, as well as companions, new weapons and armor, and who knows about the music. The Wanderer will also randomly encounter the ghost of the Vault Dweller (the canon version), suggesting my idea of bringing back a few classical elements from the original games.

EXPLANATIONS:

Q: How exactly am I going to achieve all of this?

A: Well, I'm going to start with whatever models and materials exist in Fallout: New Vegas. When the overall layout or rough draft of the game is complete, I'll make an invitation for a team. But for now, however, I will see what I can do myself.

Q: Why Miami instead of California, Nevada, or Washington D.C.?

A: Well, forty-five years is a long time; and the amount of years between events of Fallout 1 and this project's story is roughly 161 years, that's even longer. I'd say that would give enough time for the Super Mutants to spread everywhere in the ruins of the United States. Not to mention there are other parts of the country not yet explored.

Q: How will the story not contradict the official Fallout Bible?

A: It won't. I looked at the Fallout Bible in this following link: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline.

The year 2322 is nowhere mentioned; and there are huge gaps in the end, giving fans the opportunity to make their own sequels. There will, however, be some references to the Fallout Bible, which will include the origins of the FEV virus.

Q: How is the character going to be the Wanderer when Fallout: New Vegas has a character creation?

A: I'm hoping if someone can tell me the possibility of importing a FO3 character into Fallout: New Vegas. I first discovered the possibility of a character import mod through the use of the mod that you will find in this link: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37649/?.

It's very impressive, except, for this project, the importer would have to automatically age the character. The barber menu, or the display for changing your character's hair, will also be there. This will be a question that I will ask everyone in the end of this thread.

Q: Why an old Lone Wanderer instead of a younger character?

A: Well, I'm a big fan of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, except Solid Snake's age was accelerated instead of natural. I also thing that the Wanderer would be more badass the older he/she is because of years of experience, and forty-five years is a long time. It will also show how much the character has grown up after his previous experience in the Capital Wasteland.

Q: Will there be any characters from previous titles?

A: I'm thinking about that right now. My first selection is Sarah Lyons, except she'll be dead a few years before the events of this story. The Wanderer will have an old photo of her. If the Wanderer is male, he'll say that Sarah was his wife. If the Wanderer is female, then they were just best friends. Since the Vault Dweller is long dead, he will appear as a ghost that the Wanderer will see every now and then. I was thinking about adding Fawkes, but now I'm not entirely sure. Since Harkness is an android, it should mean that he can't age like a human. In the Citadel in Fallout 3, there is a young boy named Arthur Maxson. He will also be making an appearance, but he will be all grown up. Other than that, many other previous characters will be dead because of so many years that had passed.

Q: Will the character live or die in the end?

A: That remains unknown.

Q: Will the mod have a Project Nevada compatibility patch?

A: I would need permission from them first.

ULTIMATE QUESTION:

As I asked in the text above, how do I create an import system for a player character or savegame from FO3 to FNV?
