Crash every five minutes - Unrecognised plugins

I can't pinpoint which mod is the cause but the game is crashing quite regularly, I have noticed a lot of plugins are going unrecognised by BOSS so that could be the problem. Can anyone provide a possible solution?

Unrecognized just means that BOSS does not yet have that mod in it's database. With the thousands of mods, not all will be there - especially if they are not very popular. BOSS just puts any it does not recognize at the end. NMM allows you to then place them where needed ( about 85% of the time they are OK at the end.)

What are you doing in game when it crashes?

BOSS uses a file called "masterlist.txt" to sort the plugins...Even ...NevadaSkies.esm goes Unrecognized because in the Master list it has a space in Nevada Skies.

Boss is great . of 96 mods i am running, only 14 were unrecognized. All I did was open the master list and search for parts of the unrecognized files and found most of my 14 mods (my Unrecognized) were already in the list, but like WMXUE, the Ultimate edition, that only had one of the bunches of new WMXUE plugins listed.

I even borrowed most of the bash tags from mods already listed. (From the Same mod).

Knowing where in your list starts the Unrecognized for you, would help others, but like "bben46" said, should not cause problems.

On the Other hand...

Could be wrong here , have to go back and re-read the readme for EVE, i am running EVE and i don't run these, because like you, I have all the DLC.

Don't think you would need those...

Like i said, could be wrong , gonna go read...Ohhh and if ya go messin with the Masterlist make a back-up of the Original!! I even have a back-up of my Edits in case BOSS decides to update. :smile:

They are working hard at updating BOSS From V2 to V3. So them adding mods to the list is kinda on the back burner.

EDIT: to Add.

In the BOSS folder should be a file called"BOSS GUI.exe" you can use that to make rules, (it uses a file called userlist.txt) that would place mods where you want them, but using that I wouldn't get my bash tags. so i do it the hard way. :smile:

 

Edit 2 : the readme does not state one way or the other, but if you go to the download page at Nexus (for EVE) and look at the posts this has come up twice on the first page . Both times it says NO IF you have all DLC's then only use the one File>>>>[X] EVE FNV - ALL DLC.esp. Looks like NMM is the one dumping all 3 files in the Data folder.

It happens when I'm simply walking along, it will freeze and I have to alt+tab and then end the programme. I literally cannot get out of a town before it freezes again.

I have unticked those unecessary plugins but it hasn't solved the problem. I had a look at the master list and I couldn't really make much sense out of it, there is just so much in there. I think I'll leave that alone for now and first try to isolate the mod but I thought there may be a common cause for freezes.

A modded game WILL cross the 2 GB MEM barrier quite fast. from few seconds to minuets. When it does it can ...Freeze, CTD, or Load weird textures.

 

Get the 4GB loader and see it you can run for more then a min.

 

Ya that's a huge Document. (masterlist). But you can use the BOSS GUI.exe to set user rules, to order the unrecognized mods.

 

Post a new Load Order and a little bit about your System. Do you have more then 4 GB of RAM?
