badpeoplesuck Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Please go here: http://enbseries.enbdev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2729 This is a major breakthrough, if you have novice C++ knowledge this isn't hard to figure out. This guy pretty much fixed Skyrim.
Lord Garon Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) Oh geez, time for ANOTHER version of Visual C++. Of course, he finds this AFTER I optimize every texture I own to 1024x1024. (Which does work, btw) Man, I hope this works as advertised. I can see it in SKSE, or a beta, in no time. It will help a gazillion users with CTD problems. Wishing sheson luck with this. EDIT: I have to say, though, its funny to me that people were testing this at ugrids=15! Half the frickin scripts in the game probably started up. sheson will get standard Skyrim working well, then everyone will crank up ugrids. One fix leads to another. This loop may never end. And, he might have just immortalized the [NotPlacebo] tag. Edited January 18, 2014 by Lord Garon
badpeoplesuck Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 (edited) It works, you must have the STEAm version of the game or skse loader won't even bother reading the steam loader DLL file. I created my own dll, and increased the mem output to 720MB. I have 32GB of ddr3 ram so ill go as high as I need. Edited January 18, 2014 by badpeoplesuck
Skateboards Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Ah, damn. :/Wish I knew my way around C++.I guess I'll just pray that this is factored into SKSE instead, because this is the only issue I'm having with Skyrim at the moment.
pauldelray Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Great, another cool thing that only guys with more knowledge than I, can use. Will this eventually be put into form for the average user?

Lord Garon Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Well, I'm sold. Compiled a 512/256MB patch like sheson recommended. I had just finished a texture optimization and could run Vurt's stress test for about 6 minutes before it crashed (CTD's in my case). Game itself was very stable. I've only got 72 mods in this game setup, but its my combat overhaul game with a bunch of big STEP mods as well. I do have a "nerfed" RealVision running, so the ENB also helps alongside the optimized textures. No Safety Load or anything like that. In any case, I cranked it up to ugrids=7(49) and took off. 22 minutes later and I just got tired of flying around. I also FRD'd everything I saw and blasted Markarth and Solitude just to get people fighting and really stress things out. Not a single glitch. sheson is awesome. This could be the biggest thing for Skyrim in, to quote a guard, forever. The guy (or girl?) needs his/her own shrine somewhere in Skyrim so we can drop Lucia off as payment.
