tortorici Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 when i open fallout 3 it opens the little menu but when i click 'play' it gives me an error.
tortorici Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 REALLY GOOD! The same computer ran Vista temporarily, and when i switched back (after the trial was over) Fallout 3 doesn't work. (I have only played it on Vista previously)
Skotte Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 So... the computer meets or exceeds the required specs for fallout 3?
tortorici Posted July 2, 2009 Author Posted July 2, 2009 for sure it does. it has more RAM than XP can even read, that's why i tested out Vista, but it really is worse than XP. I got fallout when i was testing Vista
Skotte Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 I guess make sure your drivers are up to date. best I can do without info
Guest deleted1302297 Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 The SAME EXACT THING happened to me, it said that everything i had worked but it kept saying failed to initialize render, i got a better graphics card and now it works fine, it might be your graphics card isn't high enough.
Skotte Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 what drivers are you talking about? Graphics card drivers for starters. What graphics card are you using (hopefully you're using at least one)

Look up your documentation for your computer and see what kind of video card you have then go to their website and download the latest driver. Having a computer being able to run Vista doesn't mean your computer is powerful enough to run Fallout 3. or maybe when you put XP back on, you didn't install the correct or latest video driver. Run dxdiag and it should tell you what kind of hardware you have if you don't already know.
