BryanVDE
ok, so a few days i got this problem with fallout that it suddently needed (tho i've been playing fallout for like a year now?..) xlive.dll file, went to look it up and it said it requires live, strange thing was that i already had live, used the option in fose and so on and now i'm again able to play the gamebut WITHOUT MY SAVE GAMES -_-apperntly live decided that i should start all over again, the pr*ck (sorry for swearing just frustrated like hell, went on the net to look it up, and i got the choice to start all over again or to pay for something that fixes that bug (and other ones in vista) that they created...admit it that you got to have guts to want to make people pay for the crappy releases you make?anywayz, Q : is it possible to disable live while playing fallout (witch previously worked but now for unexplicable reasons not anymore) or at least recover my save games? anybody got an answer?appreciate it if you do, already looked on bethsoft forums, there they say install live but i'm not giving up like 40 hours of gameplay due to some program that only is a pain in the ass and decreases game performance? -_-there's no crash or anything (except when i don't use the xlive.dll file) but my progress should be restarted all over again? (ps thanx to all thhe modders/community people out here on nexus/fallout3nexus cause they do what bethesda finds impossible to do.. create something of quality!) evilneko
Sounds confusing. Live only wakes up and does something if you explicitly sign up for it and enter your key. Have you tried GFWL Disabler? Search your hard drive for your saves first. Fallout 3 save files have the extension .fos
october21
Kinda sounds like you accidentally (or otherwise) somehow launched live, in which case it might have moved your saved games. If you're playing with Live, it puts the .fos files in a special folder named for your Live Profile. Try looking in your saves folder. If there's a folder with the name of your profile, then that's your problem. Move them out of your live profile folder, and back into the Saves folder. If you already tried this, or it doesn't work, then I'm out of ideas =(Only other thing I can think of is what evilneko said: try GFWL Disabler (making sure you have a dummy xlive.dll) Good luck =P

(and yes i realized that i'm addicted to fallout so i won't quit untill this thing is fixed or declared unfixable - does this word even excist?oO-)
evilneko
It's not under your actual fallout 3 program folder, IIRC it's under \My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3\If there is not a Saves folder, make one and stick your save(s) in it.
BryanVDE
Ok edited this comment, thought my save was clean (due to the fact it shows up in fomm when i look in save games list) but the load button on the main menu when launching fallout is still gray and not usable.i transferred my saves in the folders you said i should put themmydocuments/mygames/fallout3/savesmaybe i'll try now without the dummy live things i added in attempts to fix my saves :/here we go again :/ Ok edit of an edit: problem fixedit was the old xlive.dll that was causing the gray loading button, turned out to be a lil corrupted dummy so refreshed it and now everything works fine ;)working on cleaning my last save so i gain back the lost gameplay hours :Pty again, couldn't have done it without you guys
