yk0520
Until recently, Fallout New Vegas was working with no problem. However, starting today, the game freezes at the start screen ( graphic of man in power armor with a casino sign in the background). The only way out is with the task manager which lists Fallout New Vegas and "Error" running. The problem details were listed as the following: Problem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: FalloutNV.exeApplication Version: 1.4.0.525Application Timestamp: 4e0d50edFault Module Name: nvac.dllFault Module Version: 6.0.0.0Fault Module Timestamp: 52d9bd48Exception Code: 80000003Exception Offset: 00002f40OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3Locale ID: 1033Additional Information 1: 0a9eAdditional Information 2: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789Additional Information 3: 0a9eAdditional Information 4: 0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789 The following was also listed in the log from New Vegas Anti Crash: 20133322 _ NewVegasAntiCrash FalloutNV.exe20133322 _ 03520000 06000000 nvac.dll20133322 _ 0C600000 04020020 nvse_1_4.dll20133323 e 0046158A C0000005 FalloutNV.exe20133323 ! _MISSING _MASTER_ FalloutNV.exe20133411 V 03522F40 80000003 nvac.dll20133411 u 03522F40 80000003 nvac.dll Under Regedit. Does anyone have any idea on how to correct this, or do I need to completely uninstall, download from Steam and then put the mods, etc back in? Any help would be appreciated. Oubliette
Log into steam and let it reverify your game files (right click on FNV, go down to properties, select verify game files). It will detect the messed up master and automatically replace it. Edited January 20, 2014 by Oubliette
yk0520
Thanks. Tried the file check on steam but got no results. The author for New Vegas Anti Crash suggested it was a problem with a mod. A quick check in FNVEdit by loading all files found an esp file that was corrupted during an upgrade.
