draytalon Posted November 10, 2023 Share Posted November 10, 2023 Ok, so been playing with my current mods for a while now, apart from the odd hiccup with a CTD the game was still playable. Now I am trying to go south toward Vault 88, I stop by the fridge to rescue the kid, decline the offer from Bullet and continue on my way, CTD. Reload and try again, save after meeting Bullet, continue for about 2 steps, CTD. Ok, so lets fast travel to another area as I have seen some people saying to go around a ways from where you CTD and re-enter from a different location. Nah, hit fast travel, screen loads, CTD. Fast travel to one of my settlements, CTD. Reload a previous save file from an earlier point, and I actually went all the way back to the part when I completed the Gunner meeting with Aiden, so it was a long way back. Started to walk, CTD. Anyone have any ideas why this is just now happening. I do have 228 mods active, although I tend to think the amount should run on my PC, (operative word here, THINK). PC Specs CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800xtRam : 16GBVideo Card : NVidia GeForce GTX 1660VRAM : 6GB My way in thinking, this should be enough to run FO4 and all my mods. not sure, but any info or help will be appreciated. 363rdChemicalCompany Posted November 11, 2023 Share Posted November 11, 2023 I am not a guru but had crazy issues in the past so my sggestions are: -Check game file integrity via Steam-Or I am thinking for such a thing to suddenly show up maybe your load order somehow got damaged.Which mod manager aree you using? If u have vortex you can make a new profile with same mods, take out last 2 or 3 mods u added.copy the savegame into the new profile and see if that works ( it has for me in the past) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Managed to get a little more ways into the game before a CTD, so reloaded, got to the area, saved, continued, CTD. Reload at the area I saved at, and managed to get a little further. 363rdChemicalCompany Posted November 11, 2023 Share Posted November 11, 2023 Which mod manager are you using?I dont know about the other but with Vortex you can try to save your save games.Copy your exisitng mod profile, then disbale a couple of your most recent mods and then copy/past your most recent savegegame files into the new profile and see if they work. I have been using this same mods for several months now, just started happening within the last week. No changes was done to the game, mods have never been added or taken out. I get a message from Dr. Amari in Good Neighbour, to go and see her again. As soon as that message appears, CTD. Now to figure what mod has me going to see her, although I tend to think it's something to do with Vault 81, seems to do with Curie. I believe Vault 81 is part of the Sim Settlements series. After searching, Vault 81 is in the vanilla game, although the quest 'Hole in the Wall' is not. After completing this quest and obtaining Curie, this is when all my CTD's started to happen regularly. Not sure what mod I am using that has the quest 'Hole in the Wall'. So back to the drawing board with mod wipe and re-install one by one to figure out this. draytalon Posted November 12, 2023 Author Share Posted November 12, 2023 Did the cloning idea, but I think I have found the culprit. I used to have issue's with the mole rats in the secret vault, they where just frozen in place, when I got to Curie, nothing happened, so I downloaded a mod that disables the mole rats, let's me complete vault 81. Now that mod has been running all the time. So I deleted that mod, reloaded back at 81 and went in and completed as it was intended.
