Most Memorable Moments in Oblivion

My level 21 assassin character has just returned to his hideaway (a cave home from "highwayman's hideaway" not all that complete but it works in a pinch for a place to heal) after massacreing the Cheydinhall Guards. My assassin is a master of blade and so can use the backwards power atack, knock-down thing, I destroy all of the guard-or so I think... I'm a vampire and as all vampires do, worry about getting caught in the sunlight so I run without fast travel to my hideaway with the standard music playing, lalalala, get to my hideaway, step up to the bed, activate it "You cannot sleep with enemies nearby" and I'm like wtf? enemies? I killed all the guard and everything did a wolf or somethin follow me - "HURRAGHHHH!" screams the guard I had knocked down and had tailed me for the 3 hour (game time) treck to my lair and he stabs me in the gut, and I, having practically no health left, die and have to go use the restroom. So I reload the autosave of me entering the hideaway and crouch by the door and wait with the poisened blade of woe (enchanted version from the night mother) I got at level 20 (thank you discipline!) and when he opens the door BAM! I stab him in the back, but what's this? he has almost full health then downs one of his numerous restore health potions and HAS full health then we run a merry chase me alternating with my bow and dagger to stagger him and eventually he drains 17(!!!) health potions before I finally kill him with a poisoned shot from my bow. Most exhilerating battle and scarriest encounter.

when i finally killed everyone in the imperial city (essentials i lured to a room, used the console to lock the door, then used the console to get out)

so fun

then id ressurect them, and snipe them all over again from a rooftop

My most memorable moment is when i was walking along a road and out of no where i see a imperial guard, a minotaur, a wolf, and an old lady fighting in the middle of the road. the guard kills the minotaur and wolf and then the old lady punches him in the face and he dies and she walks way like nothing ever happened.

Best moment for me: I was walking in the Market District on my way to get a weapon from the Slash and Smash, then as I near the door, battle music starts playing, i'm like "umm what?" then the retired mage guy starts trying to kill me, a guard runs over and kills him, then another guard attacks the first guard, then more join in the fight, then random citizens start attacking the guards, and it becomes a massive free for all. Everyone but one guard captain (I forgot who, think it may have been Itius Hayne, or whatever his name is) dies, and he was knocked unconscious like 5 times during the fight. I then loaded the game, and it happened again. So the second time I loaded I just killed the guy using the console.

I once saw a video on YouTube on how to get on the roofs of the Market District without mods nor console. I thought, that I had to try.

There I was levelling my Acrobatics in the Lonely Suitors Lodge in Bravil on the bar. When it reached a good level I tried it and succeeded. I was so happy, I could've bursted.

Then I started hopping around the roofs, eventually jumping on the collision-less roofs that cover the crates and falling down. I got back on the roofs, jumped on the collision-less roof and drank my own Vvotca (which drains fatigue 1000 for 10 seconds) which resulted in a majestic freefall through the roof. I landed on some crates, in a position impossible for human kind to achieve, when this guard walks up to me like: " What is it citizen?". After l0lling for three seconds, I saw that all other guards were rushing towards me, the first tried to arrest me and, being brave, I resisted arrest. So all IC was after me. Then the brilliant idea came.

I climbed up the roofs, saved the game, downloaded some rocky outfit and a guitar, equipping those in-game and I stagedived in the crowd. I kept laughing even after Rocky McRockstar died.

I'll never forget my most memorable moment. I've played Oblivion a few times now but the very first time I played it, my most memorable moment was the time I discovered the dark brotherhood.

I had never heard of them before so I didn't know anything about them. I hadn't even been discovered by lucien lechance yet. The old boarded up house in Cheydinhal caught my attention and curiously I broke in and began to loot what I could find. Of course all basements have the good loot so I headed down there last. The house had already creeped me out a bit by now, being cobwebbed and dark inside...so when I found a hole in the wall in the basement and curiously followed the tunnel my creep factor continued to rise and rise. When the red light began to show blood smears, splatters.. and ominous music played I was nearly trembling in my computer chair. (I can be a wimp some times..) The creepy door didn't help with that!

So I clicked on the door.. and the creepy whispery voice boomed in my headphones! I nearly fell out of my oblivion shoes! I immediately turned tail and ran out of there as fast as my legs could carry me!

That moment was the scariest, and greatest moment i've ever experienced in the game! I wish the game of oblivion could give me more moments like that!

First of all: ...sorry for my english^^ - ...I'm from Germany

-1-

I was new to the game, sitting in my dark room. On my table only a small candle (its kinda romantic ^^).

I entered a cave (can not remember which one) that was obviously occupied by goblins.

At that time I didn't own any helpful items or spells, such as "Life Detection" or "Night Vision". In the cave there was complete darkness and only the howling of the wind would be heard. It was this sort of an cave in wich the paths cross at various points and you never know where an opponent is still hanging around. You know what I mean. ;)

I was sneaking further and further - slowly and cautiously into the darkness. After some time I saw a goblin who was moving into my(!) direction. At that time of playing Oblivion (as a newbie) I still had a healthy respect for these aggressive guys! So I sneaked cautiously back, my attention directed to this goblin, and hoped that he does not notice me. As I was far enough from him, I checked my equipment and meanwhile I was a little relaxed now.

I would try to attack the goblin!

As an absolute novice in sneaking, I moved forward again - carefully and slowly. After a while I stopped and stared into the darkness. I could hear footsteps, but there was absolutely nothing to see. I made two steps forward, eyes fixed forward into the darkness.

Where's the goblin? ...still these steps... - ...and nothing to see...

Just as I wanted to continue my way - suddenly another goblin is sneaking through the darkness very close beside me.

He was right behind me all the time!

I was so surprised, I couldn't speak for a second!

After I had calmed down again (and saved my game), I decided to take them both. Yeah! ...both of them! (a classic case of megalomania by myself ^^ )

As I cautiously approached the two goblins (one carried a torch now, and both were clearly visible), I did accidentally 2-3 steps without(!) sneaking. o_O

Suddenly... -...directly out of nowhere a goblin-leader stood in front of me!

I was scared to death!!! :woot:

At this moment all hell broke loose!!!

The leader was followed by another goblin-fighter. Both were full of rage and attacked me immediately. After a few seconds I saw where those two came from so suddenly. There was a door to a small room just a few steps away from me but I couldn't see it from my last position.

I think it's needless to say that the other two goblins at the end of the floor were alarmed by the noise and now all 4 guys together tried to take me apart.

The only thing I could do at this moment was to escape from that cave.

Full of panic......I was running for my life...

A very funny moment was when I first walked into the bookstore of Bugak gro-Bol in Leyawiin, and that he complained of how the other orcs were making jokes about him just because he sells books. Also absolutely unbeatable is his "invitation" to buy a book:

"Buy a goddamn book. This is a bookstore or what?

Do not just stare at! Buy one! I'm Bugak gro-Bol, and I advise you finally to buy a goddamn book! Now! - Dammit!"

...you just can't say no ;)

Its also funny when you come closer to a blindfolded NPC and he says:

"Nice to see you"
