Anno 1404 History Edition mods are not working

I'm wondering if there are people still playing Anno 1404 History Edition with mods.
Reason is that the mods are not working for HE.
I tried the Mod manager 4, but that is also not working.
I can not find so much information about it.
In the past with the original Anno 1404 I made some maps and Island and had a lot of fun with it.
Problem then was the memory error that a lot of people had in that time.
That was the reason I bought the Anno 1404 HE because that is 'optimized' for modern PC's.
But now I want to play again with mods, bigger islands, radius etc but seems that it's not working.
If there are people that want to help or explain me how to do it please let me know
