I think Gameplay and Overhaul mods are the best, but there are already several fantastic ones out there and they are generally not very compatible with each other so we aren't in dire need of more mods of this type tbh. Graphic/texture mods are always nice (as long as they somewhat stays true to the vanilla design and style imo) and mods that tweak small specific things are great as well imo.

If there's one category to choose, I'd say Other-Quests and Adventures. There have been standalone campaigns such as Thirst or Dragon Age Uprising (naming just a few), and those that add to the Origins story, such as the unfinished Dark Times-both kinds show a great effort from their creators and bring much fun for players who want another adventure in Thedas or even somewhere else like Rose of Eternity or the untranslated to English campaign, the Chronicles of Coldramar.

There are some standalone campaigns that just ask to be extended, because they had such potential- Kal Sharok with its long-forgotten dwarven city atmosphere, or the Emissary, that puts the player in the role of a leader of a Darkspawn band, roaming the Tevinter Silent Plains in the aftermath of the Fifth Blight, the latter mod with its cut-scenes and the uneasy atmosphere that immerses in the story, if it had been longer, I can certainly say it could've been much better than the Bioware's Darkspawn's Chronicles.

Another ambitious project I remember, was Baldur's Gate II-Module 1 Irenicus' Dungeon, it was supposed to recreat the whole Baldur's Gate 2 on the DA engine, in my opinion it was even too ambitious, because BG2 was such a big game. And maybe that's one of the reasons only the Prologue was ported, but it's an impressive work, with the original dialogues and well recreated cut-scenes that still give the atmosphere of the original.

And what's important even to this day, some modders make these adventures, the latest one to mention is Kivito's YADAM that was finished in 2023, a great effort was put into this, just look at the locations in this mod, too bad the author had to cut some parts of the story from what I've read on the mod's page, because he had more ideas for it, but the overall effort is worth of praise.

DA Origins is close to its 15th year, but I still hope there'll be yet another adventure made, I think today the game and its loyal players need it even more, seeing in what direction the series has gone as of now..
